Abstract:Objective:To investigate the relationship between maternal plasma placenta leucine aminopepticlase(P-LAP)and gestational age during 28~36+6 weeks' in the normal pregnant women and spontaneous preterm labor women. Methods:These pregnant women were defined as preterm and threatened preterm labor group.Maternal plasma P-LAP and IL-6 concentrations were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results:(1)P-LAP concentration increased with the gestational age increased in third trimester pregnancy group(P<0.01),but IL-6 concentrations did not(P>0.05).(2)The concentration of P-LAP of premature group was lower than that of the threatened premature labor group or the full-term group and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).(3)When the P-LAP levels of the premature group at or below the 10th percentile level of full-term group, the incidence of premature delivery increased compared with threatened premature labor group(P=0.008).(4)The plasma levels of P-LAP did not significantly related to IL-6 concentration using linear regression analysis(P>0.05).Conclusion:P-LAP concentration increases with gestational age.A low level of serum P-LAP of the spontaneous preterm pregnant women admitted to hospital can predict their prognosis. The decline of the level of P-LAP may be the key factor of the onset of labor and preterm labor.
