Abstract:In order to set up a novel culturing method for culturing the olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) and provide seed cells for the study of neural guiding recovery materials. OECs of olfactory bulbs outer layers of neonatal rat were acquired and digested to single with trypsin,then cells were purified with differential attachment method and their morphological features were observed and recorded. The HE staining and immunohistochemical staining of neural growth factor protein receptors (NGFR-p75) and S-100 protein were performed to identify the OECs. The results showed that about 91% cultured OECs,which shown bipolar or multipolar slender processes,were NGFR-p75 and S-100 positive. These results suggest that our method is economical and easy to perform,and it yields a large quantity of purified OECs.
