Abstract:It is known that there exists the stationary sequence of branching process with immigration $\{X_{n}\}_{n\in\mathbb{Z}}$ under some conditions (Foster and Williamson (1971)), when the offspring is critical or subcritical. A precise large deviation probability for the partial sum $S_{n}=X_{1}+\cdots+X_{n}$ is specified, the significant difference is revealed for the critical and subcritical cases.

Abstract:We derive a large deviation principle for occupation time of super α-stable process in ℝd with d > 2α. The decay of tail probabilities is shown to be exponential and the rate function is characterized. Our result can be considered as a counterpart of Lee's work on large deviations for occupation times of super-Brownian motion in ℝd for dimension d > 4 (see Ref. 10).

It is well known that under suitable conditions on the offspring and immigration distributions, there is a finite, strictly positive limit ${\mathcal{W}}$ for the normalized population size. Abstract:In this article we focus on the partial sum $S_{n}=X_{1}+\cdots+X_{n}$ of the subcritical branching process with immigration $\{X_{n}\}_{n\in\mathbb{N_{+}}}$, under the condition that one of the offspring $\xi$ or immigration $\eta$ is regularly varying. The tail distribution of $S_n$ is heavily dependent on that of $\xi$ and $\eta$, and a precise large deviation probability for $S_{n}$ is specified. (i)When the tail of offspring $\xi$ is lighter than immigration $\eta$, uniformly for $x\geq x_{n}$, $P(S_{n}-ES_{n}>x)\sim c_{1}nP(\eta>x)$ with some constant $c_{1}$ and sequence $\{x_{n}\}$, where $c_{1}$ is only related to the mean of offspring; (ii) When the tail of immigration $\eta$ is not heavier than offspring $\xi$, uniformly for $x\geq x_{n}$,$P(S_{n} ES_{n}>x)\sim c_{2}nP(\xi>x)$ with some constant $c_{2}$ and sequence $\{x_{n}\}$, where $c_{2}$ is related to both the mean of offspring and the mean of immigration.

Abstract:We consider the small value probability of supercritical continuous state branching processes with immigration. From Pinsky (1972) it is known that under regularity condition on the branching mechanism and immigration mechanism, the normalized population size converges to a non-degenerate finite and positive limit W as t tends to infinity. We provide sharp estimate on asymptotic behavior of ℙ(W ⩽ ɛ) as ɛ → 0+ by studying the Laplace transform of W. Without immigration, we also give a simpler proof for the small value probability in the non-subordinator case via the prolific backbone decomposition.

Abstract:We consider the setting of either a general non-local branching particle process or a general non-local superprocess, in both cases, with and without immigration. Under the assumption that the mean semigroup has a Perron-Frobenious type behaviour for the immigrated mass, as well as the existence of second moments, we consider necessary and sufficient conditions that ensure limiting distributional stability. More precisely, our first main contribution pertains to proving the asymptotic Kolmogorov survival probability and Yaglom limit for critical non-local branching particle systems and superprocesses under a second moment assumption on the offspring distribution. Our results improve on existing literature by removing the requirement of bounded offspring in the particle setting [21] and generalising [43] to allow for non-local branching mechanisms. Our second main contribution pertains to the stability of both critical and sub-critical non-local branching particle systems and superprocesses with immigration. At criticality, we show that the scaled process converges to a Gamma distribution under a necessary and sufficient integral test. At subcriticality we show stability of the process, also subject to an integral test. In these cases, our results complement classical results for (continuous-time) Galton-Watson processes with immigration and continuous-state branching processes with immigration; see [22,40,42,48,51], among others. In the setting of superprocesses, the only work we know of at this level of generality is summarised in [34]. The proofs of our results, both with and without immigration, appeal to similar technical approaches and accordingly, we include the results together in this paper.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a central limit theorem for a large class of general supercritical superprocesses with immigration with spatially dependent branching mechanisms satisfying a second moment condition. This central limit theorem extends and generalizes the results obtained by Ren, Song and Zhang[2015]. We first give law of large numbers for supercritical superprocesses with immigration since there is few convergence result on immigration superprocesses, then based on these results, we establish the central limit theorem.

Abstract:Let $\{Y_{n}$, $n \geq 1\}$ be a critical branching process with immigration having finite variance for the offspring number of particles and finite mean for the immigrating number of particles. In this paper, we study lower deviation probabilities for $Y_{n}$. More precisely, assuming that $k,n \to \infty$ such that $k=o\left(n \right)$, we investigate the asymptotics of $\mathbf{P}\left(Y_{n} \leq k \right)$ and $\mathbf{P}\left(Y_{n} = k \right)$. Our results clarify the role of the moment conditions in the local limit theorem for $Y_n$ proven by Mellein.

Abstract:In this paper, a critical Galton-Watson branching process with immigration $Z_{n}$ is studied. We first obtain the convergence rate of the harmonic moment of $Z_{n}$. Then the large deviation of $S_{Z_n}:=\sum_{i=1}^{Z_n} X_i$ is obtained, where $\{X_i\}$ is a sequence of independent and identically distributed zero-mean random variables with tail index $\alpha>2$. We shall see that the converging rate is determined by the immigration mean, the variance of reproducing and the tail index of $X_1^+$, comparing to previous result for supercritical case, where the rate depends on the Schröder constant and the tail index.

(2011) we show that supercritical continuous-state branching process with a general branching mechanism and general immigration mechanism is equal in law to a continuous-time Galton Watson process with immigration with Poissonian dressing. The result also characterises the limiting backbone decomposition which is predictable from the work on consistent growth of Galton-Watson trees with immigration in Cao and Winkel (2010).

Abstract:In this paper we consider a triangular array of branching processes with non-stationary immigration. We prove a weak convergence of properly normalized branching processes with immigration to deterministic function under assumption that immigration is rowwise $\psi-$mixing and the offspring mean tends to its critical value 1, immigration mean and variance controlled by regularly varying functions. Moreover, we obtain a fluctuation limit theorem for branching process with immigration when immigration is $m-$dependent where $m$ may tend to infinity with the row index at a certain rate. In this case the limiting process is a time-changed Wiener process. Our results extend and improve the previous known results in the literature.

Abstract:The large deviation principle for spin particle systems with long range interactions has been studied. It is shown that most of the results in Chen J. W. and Dai Pra P. ’s previous papers can be extended to the present situation. A particularly interesting result is the variational principle which characterizes the stationary Markov measures of such systems as the zeros of the governing LD rate functions. Uniqueness of such measure is studied from this as well as other point of view. We then apply the results to the occupation times of the systems. New large deviation and convergence results are obtained.
