Bioactivities of the Alkaloids from Tripterygium Wilfordii Against Striped Stem Borer,chilo Suppressalis (Walker)

Abstract:Alkaloids were extracted from the root bark of Tripterygium wilfordii Hook.This paper dealt with the bioactivities of the alkaloids against the larvae of striped stem borer(SSB),Chilo suppressalis.The results showed that in choice and no-choice test,the medium antifeeding concentration(AFC_(50)) of the alkaloids against the newly-hatched and 3rd instar SSB larvae were 188.3 mg/L and 22.5,217.2 mg/L and 46.1 mg/L,respectively.The growth inhibiting effect of the alkaloids were high,the growth-inhibitory rate was 26.7% when the concentration was 25 mg/L and 88.79% when the concentration was 100 mg/L.The alkaloid also showed an obvious growth inhibition activity to the SSB larvae.The median lethal concentration(LC_(50)) for the larvae treated for 24 h and 48 h were 676.4 mg/L and 326.5 mg/L,respectively.
