Toward a Hierarchal "View of Logic in Broad Sense"——Retrospection and Reflection of the Two Major Disputes on "View of Logic"

Abstract:To further examine and study the basic issues of the "view of logic" is a necessary approach to understand the status and the prospect of the development of logic in China.The disputes in the past decades on the "relation of formal logic and mathematical logic" and that of the "views of logic in narrow sense and in broad sense" is helpful to the clarification of the distinctions between different scopes and different levels of logic,illustrating the depth and width of the development of the logic study in China.Based on this,a further discussion is made to resolve the tough problems caused by the tangled hierarchies in the past disputes,by clearly distinguishing the multi-leveled meanings of "reasoning" and "form",while achieving a new view of "applied logic":To systematically explore the function mechanic of logic factors in a certain field and the interaction of logical and non-logical factors,with the key point of grasping the methodological "patterns" of in this field,in order to form an applied logical methodology.From this point of view,a clear hierarchical "view of logic in broad sense" which can cover the disciplines of basic logic and those of the applied logic can be gained,which is helpful to grasp the development tendency of the contemporary logic study and the ways of the three-leveled development in basic logic,applied logic and the application of logic in China.
