Survey of the Tuberculosis Witting Rate among Three Populations in Changyang County

Abstract:[Objective] To learn the TB knowledge among the urban and rural residents in Tujia Autonomous County and provide evidence for the implementation of TB health education. [Methods] On-site questionnaire survey was conducted among the healthy people, the contact people and the TB patients to understand their knowledge about TB. [Results] The scoring passing rates of the comprehensive TB knowledge among the healthy people, the contact people and the TB patients were 54.73%, 58.65% and 60.78% respectively; the comprehensive knowledge score of the investigated people showed statistically significant difference between different genders among the three types of population; statistical difference was also found in the witting rates between different household registrations, different occupations and educational levels; the difference was not significant between the contact people and the TB patients.[Conclusion] The master of TB knowledge is not fine among the public of Tujia Autonomous County; emphasis should be put on the health education among the population of low educational level and rural household registrations.
