Effects of adult age and mating status on fecundity of Haritalodes derogata

Abstract:[Objective] The factors affecting Haritalodes derogata(Fabricius) egg laying amount,hatchability and adult life were investigated to provide a theoretical basis for research and development of the sex pheromone.[Method] Under the laboratory conditions at(25±2)℃ and L∥D=14 h∥10 h,the bonitation of H.derogata was studied.[Result] The preoviposition period was significantly correlated with the mating duration.Delaying copulation of adult females had obvious effects on its oviposition period,egg laying amount and hatching rate,and there was marked difference between delayed mating and normal mating.[Conclusion] The effects of female mating duration,mating frequency and different female age groups on reproduction were clarified.
