Research Advances in Injectable Materials for Intraocular Lenses

Abstract:Injectable intraocular lenses have dual characters of normal lenses position and physiological regulation function,so its synthesis and preparation have become one of the research hot spots in the world.In this paper,research advances of the injectable materials for intraocular lenses are summarized.The materials structure,basic properties and medical characters of silicone polymers,photopolymers,polyurethane copolymers and sulfhydryl polymers are mainly discussed.Furthermore,advantages and shortcomings of the four materials used as injectable intraocular lenses are commented.
