On the Practical Significance of Contemporary Philosophy of Science

Abstract:The newest and most important trend in contemporary scientific philosophy is its turn of the focus onto the scientific practice.This thesis, through the analysis on the background behind the change and examination of the details of the scientific practice,proposes the three aspects of effects on the contemporary scientific theory by focusing on scientific practice.First,while the classical scientific theory assumes the binary opposition of natural entity and social entity,the contemporary scientific theory postulates a possible mixture of natural and social entities based on the scientific practice.Secondly, the contemporary scientific theory discards the search of a generic logistic method by the old scientific theory.Instead,it tries to dialectically describe the scientific practice by using the historical and contextual methodology.Thirdly,the contemporary scientific theory claims the truthfulness of the scientific knowledge is based on the localization and context of the knowledge.
