Abstract:Objective The genes encoding human leucocyte antigen are highly polymorphic, however, previous studies regarding the HLA distribution in Chinese populations have mainly focused on Chinese Han populations residing at various geographic regions. Our study was designed to explore the HLA-A genetic polymorphism of Chinese Mongolian population at DNA level. Methods Eighty-three unrelated healthy individuals of Mongol, recruited from Inner Mongolia, were typed for HLA-A locus by using amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction(ARMS/PCR) technique. Results Eleven HLA-A alleles(groups) were found, the most frequent alleles were HLA-A*02,A*11,and A*24,with gene frequencies of 0.2886,0.1713,and 0.1569 respectively. In this sample panel,HLA-A19 broad specificity was composed of HLA-A*29,A*30,A*31,A*32,and A*33 splits, which were summed to a frequency of 0.2368.In addition,HLA-A*01 was a relatively common allele with gene frequency of 0.08823. Conclusion Our study provides the data of HLA-A genetic polymorphism of a Chinese Mongolian population at DNA level.
