Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the effects of sequential chemotherapy-radiotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer. Methods: Long-term curative effect of multimodality therapy for 89 patients with non-small cell lung cancer was analyzod . Statistic analysis was performed using software SPSS10.0. Overall survival(OS) were calculated using Kaplan Meier method. Differences between survival curves were tested by Logrank method. Results: All the patients were followed up to Jun 30 of 2005, 4 cases were lost, the rate of follow up was 95.5%, The 1,3,5-year survival rates were 64.0%,27.0%,24.4% respectively, the 1,3,5-year survival rates by clinical stage of the disease were as follows: 92.9%,85.7%,70.0% respectively for stage I; 91.7%,30.0%,42.9% for IIB, 60.0%,16.7%,14.3% for IIIA; 50.0%,5.9%,0 for IIIB; 47.8%,6.7%,0 for IV. Along the increase of clinical stage, the survival rates were decreased. There was significant difference between the stage. The median survival time were 60, 60 ,14, 13 and 12.5 months for stage I,IIB,IIIA,IIIB,IV. The survival rates were no difference between surgical treatment puls chemotherapy with or without radiation group and chemotherapy plus radiation in stage I~II and stage IIIA and IIIB. The patients of stage IV prolonged the survival time after chemotherapy with or without palliative radiation. Conclusion: The survival time could be prolonged with induction sequential chemotherapy plus radiotherapy in the patient of advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
