Abstract:The problem of analysis of robust stability for time-delayed neural networks with nonlinear perturbation has been investigated via Lyapunov stability theory. The sufficient conditions for robust stability of neural networks with time delays have been developed. The exponential stability criterion for neural networks is also derived. The result includes the information on the state convergence degree of the neural networks. The robust stable criterion in this paper is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

The parametric uncertainties in the neural networks satisfy the Frobenius norm-bounded conditions. The exogenous disturbance and stochastic perturbation functions satisfy the Liptistz conditions. Based on linear matrix inequality approach. the sufficient exponential stable criteria and the asymptotical stability condition on uncertain stochastic neural networks are presented.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of robust exponential stability analysis for uncertain discrete recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays. In terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, some novel stability conditions are proposed via a new Lyapunov function. Neither any model transformation nor free-weighting matrices are employed in our theoretical derivation. The established stability criteria significantly improve and simplify some existing stability conditions. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the almost sure exponential stability analysis for stochastic neural network systems. Based on the methods of Lyapunov functions, some criteria for the almost sure exponential stability of these stochastic systems are derived, which show that noises can be used to stabilize unstable neural networks. Our results complete the recent works. Two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:The robust stochastic convergence and stability in mean square are investigated for a class of uncertain neutral-type neural networks with both Markovian jump parameters and mixed delays. First, by employing the Lyapunov method and a generalized Halanay-type inequality for stochastic differential equations, a delay-dependent condition is derived to guarantee the state variables of the discussed neural networks to be globally uniformly exponentially stochastic convergent to a ball in the state space with a prespecified convergence rate. Next, by applying the Jensen integral inequality and a novel reciprocal convex lemma, a delay-dependent criterion is developed to achieve the globally robust stochastic stability in mean square. With some parameters being fixed in advance, the proposed conditions are all expressed in terms of LMIs, which can be solved numerically by employing the standard MATLAB LMI toolbox package. Finally, two illustrated examples are given to show the effectiveness and less conservatism of the obtained results over some existing works. Copyright (c) 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:The standard neural network model(SNNM) was used to provide a unified framework for the stability analysis of various recurrent neural networks(RNN).By applying the Lyapunov stability theory and S-procedure technique,some sufficient stability conditions were derived for the global robust asymptotic and exponential stability of delayed SNNM with the form of linear matrix inequalities.The condition for robust exponential stability was formulated as a generalized eigenvalued problem,which established an estimation of the exponential convergence rate and improved the previous results.In the given examples,other RNNs were transformed into SNNM to be analyzed in a unified way.Simulation showed the effectiveness of the presented method and the validity of the sufficient conditions.

Abstract:Neural networks suffer from the natural intra- and inter-cellular noise perturbations and environmental fluctuations. Such noises will undoubtedly affect the dynamics of the neural networks both quantitatively and qualitatively. In this paper, we study the effects of noise perturbations on the stability and periodicity of delayed recurrent neural networks. We first derive the mean-square stability conditions for stochastic delayed recurrent neural networks without and with parametric uncertainties, respectively. After that, we study the stochastic periodicity (stability) with disturbance attenuation of delayed recurrent neural networks. The analysis are all based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach, and the conditions are all expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be easily solved by using the effective convex optimization techniques. Several numerical examples are also given to demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract:This paper discusses the stabilization criteria for stochastic neural networks of neutral type with both Markovian jump parameters. First, delay-dependent conditions to guarantee the globally exponential stability in mean square and almost surely exponential stability of such systems are obtained by combining an appropriate constructed Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional with the semi-martingale convergence theorem. These conditions are in terms of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be some less conservative than some existing results. Second, based on the obtained stability conditions, the state feedback controller is designed. Finally, four numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and significant improvement of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper considers the problem of stability analysis for uncertain stochastic neural networks with distributed delays and reaction-diffusions. Two sufficient conditions for the robust exponential stability in the mean square of the given network are developed by using a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, an integral inequality, and some analysis techniques. The conditions, which are expressed by linear matrix inequalities, can be easily checked. Two simulation examples are given to demonstrate the reduced conservatism of the proposed conditions.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the robustness of globally exponential stability of time-varying delayed neural networks (NNs) subjected to random disturbances. Given a globally exponentially stable neural network, and in the presence of noise, we quantify how much noise intensity that the delayed neural network can remain to be globally exponentially stable. We characterize the upper bounds of the noise intensity for the delayed NNs to sustain globally exponential stability. The upper bounds of parameter uncertainty intensity are characterized by using transcendental equation. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the theoretical result.

Abstract:In this paper, the global robust exponential stability of interval neural networks with delays is investigated. Employing homeomorphism techniques and Lyapunov functions, we establish some sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness, and global robust exponential stability of the equilibrium point for delayed neural networks. It is shown that the obtained results improve and generalize the previously published results.

Abstract:Robustness of neural networks has been a hot topic in recent years. This paper mainly studies the robustness of the global exponential stability of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with a piecewise constant argument and stochastic disturbances, and discusses the problem of whether the Cohen-Grossberg neural networks can still maintain global exponential stability under the perturbation of the piecewise constant argument and stochastic disturbances. By using stochastic analysis theory and inequality techniques, the interval length of the piecewise constant argument and the upper bound of the noise intensity are derived by solving transcendental equations. In the end, we offer several examples to illustrate the efficacy of the findings.
