Abstract:The title compound, C17H16O4, was synthesized by the reaction of 2,3-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxyacetophenone in 20% NaOH solution for 2 h, followed by crystallization from ethyl acetate. The pyrone ring adopts a chair conformation.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C14H11ClN4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of m-chloroacetophenone and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The two benzene rings of the title molecule have a dihedral angle of 16.17 (6)degrees. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the distances of 1.422 (3) and 1.415 (3) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imine group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.376 (3) Angstrom for other aromatic C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The overlapped arrangement of chlorophenyl rings of neighbouring molecules shows the existence of a pi-pi stacking interaction.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C15H13ClN4O6, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2-chloro-3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Within the dinitrophenyl group, the distances of 1.413 (3) and 1.405 (3) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.372 (4) Angstrom for other aromatic C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The benzene rings in the molecule are nearly coplanar, and the overlapped arrangement of benzene rings of neighboring molecules shows the existence of a pi-pi stacking interaction.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound {systematic name [(1E)-1-aza-2-(3-chlorophenyl)prop-1-enyl](2,4,6-trinitrophenyl)amine}, C14H10ClN5O6, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 3-chloroacetophenone and 2,4,6-trinitrophenylhydrazine. There are two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The double bond in the bridge between the benzene rings displays an E configuration. pi-pi stacking is observed between parallel and nearly parallel benzene rings.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C16H14N4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzylideneacetone and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The molecule has a nearly planar structure with a dihedral angle of 7.57 (4)degrees between the dinitrophenyl and benzylidene mean planes. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the distances of 1.420 (2) and 1.411 (3) Angstrom for the C - C bonds near the imine group are longer than the average distance of 1.374 (3) Angstrom for the other C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The short N-C distance of 1.338 (2) Angstrom indicates electron delocalization between the imine group and dinitrophenyl ring.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C12H14N4O4 were obtained by a condensation reaction between cyclohexanone and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Within the dinitrophenyl group, the distances of 1.420(2) and 1.422(2) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.377 (2) Angstrom for the rest of the C-C bonds in the ring. The overlapped arrangement and separation of 3.379 (8) Angstrom between parallel aromatic rings suggest the existence of a pi-pi-stacking interaction between neighboring molecules.

Abstract:The title compound, C(24)H(22)N(2)O(4)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 3,4-dimeth-oxy-benzaldehyde, malononitrile and 5-phenyl-cyclo-hexane-1,3-dione. The cyclo-hexyl and pyran rings show half-boat and V-shaped conformations, respectively. The dihedral angle between the phenyl and benzene ring planes is 30.67 (9)°. The organic mol-ecules are packed in a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:The title compound, C19H18BrN3O3, was synthesized by the reaction of 2-methanesulfonyl-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine and N-(2-bromophenyl)-2-hydroxybenzylamine in tetrahydrofuran. There are three different planes in the molecule, each of which is conjugated. The dihedral angles between the pyrimidine plane and the planes of the two phenyl rings are 107.85 (4) and 77.38 (2) degrees, and the dihedral angle between the planes of the two phenyl rings is 103.15(3)degrees.

Abstract:The title compound, C(20)H(18)O(6), has been synthesized from 4-methoxy-phenyl 3-O-benzo-yloxy-α-l-rhamnopyran-oside by oxidation on treatment with pyridinium dichromate in the presence of acetic anhydride. In the mol-ecule, the pyran ring adopts an envelope conformation with the O atom at the flap position. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound, C19H17N3O3S, was synthesized via the reaction of 2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-ylsulfanyl) benzoic acid and aniline in dichloromethane using dicyclohexylcarbodiimide as catalyst. The dihedral angles between the pyrimidine plane and the planes of the two benzene rings are 71.2 (2) and 62.7 (2)degrees; the dihedral angle between the planes of the two benzene rings is 68.4 (4)degrees. The conformation of the compound is U-shaped.

Abstract:The title molecule, C22H16ClNO5, was obtained by the reaction of (E)-ethyl 3-(3-chlorophenyl)-2-cyanoacrylate and 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione catalysed by triethylamine in ethanol.
