Abstract:Feline panleukopenia is a highly contagious viral disease of high mortality, infected by feline panleukepenia virus(FPV), severely affecting the health of large felid animals in captivity in China.Yet studies on its epidemiology were few all over the world. In the experiment,PCR technique was used to test the presence of panleukopenia virus in tigers of Wooded Land in captivity:in Nov 2006,62 feces samples of tigers were collected;in Feb 2007,36 samples and in Jul 2007,45 samples.DNA was extracted and PCR amplified to test the presence of the virus and the infection rate. Results showed that the infection rates of the virus were .54.8%, 25% and 0 respectively.Basedon this data, the infection status and epidemiology of the infection in this large felid animal population in captivity were discussed.
