Abstract:The ground states properties of Ne-isotopes were calculated with Relativistic mean field theory.Compared with the experimental datas,its discovered that the nucleus properties chang regularly with the changes of neutron number when the proton number is even.The results proved indirectly that even nucleus has no direct influenced on another kind of nucleus.Besides,the applicability of Relativistic mean field theory in this region was tested.

Abstract:The properties of infinite nuclear matter and neutron star are studied theoretically in relativistic mean-field (RMF) approach with three typical parameter sets NL1, NL-SH and TM1. It is found that all these new RMF parameter sets can very satisfactorily reproduce the properties of high density matter. Among these parameter sets, TM1, with a nonlinear ω term, reproduces a slightly smaller energy, pressure and neutron star mass than NL-SH and NL1. The ρ meson field has a large influence on the properties of neutron star and infinite nuclear matter. A detailed discussion for the significance of numerical results is also given.

Abstract:We develop a relativistic mean field (RMF) description of deformed nuclei with pairing correlations in the BCS approximation. The treatment of the pairing correlations for nuclei whose Fermi surfaces are close to the threshold of unbound states needs special attention. With this in mind, we use a delta function interaction for the pairing interaction to pick up those states whose wave functions are concentrated in the nuclear region and employ the standard BCS approximation for the single-particle states obtained from the RMF theory with deformation. We apply the RMF + BCS method to the Zr isotopes and obtain a good description of the binding energies and the nuclear radii of nuclei from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line.

Physics of Atomic Nuclei

Abstract:Recent works on the relativistic description of exotic nuclei and nuclear matter at extreme conditions are reviewed. New parameter sets for the Lagrangian density in the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory, PK1, PK1r, and PKDD are proposed with the center-of-mass correction included in a microscopic way. The density-dependences of effective interactions in RMF for nuclear matter and neutron stars are discussed. They are able to provide an excellent description not only for the properties of nuclear matter and neutron stars, but also for the nuclei near or far from the beta-stability line, including halos and giant halos at the neutron drip line in nuclei and hypernuclei. As a step toward the investigation of deformed nuclei close to the drip line, the Woods-Saxon basis has been suggested to replace the widely used harmonic oscillator basis for solving the RMF equations. Based on the two-neutron separation energy, shell correction energy, and effective pairing gaps, etc., new magic numbers for superheavy nuclei are suggested.

Abstract:With pairing correlations and microscopic center-of-mass correction considered, new parameter sets for the Lagrangian density in the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory, NLLN with nonlinear sigma- and omega-meson self-coupling and DDLN with the density-dependent meson-nucleon coupling axe proposed for light nuclei. They are able to provide an excellent description for the properties of the Z <= 8 nuclei in and far from the valley of beta stability. The neutron drip line nucleus 260 for Oxygen isotopes is obtained in new parameter sets. In addition new magic number N = 16 in O-24 can be well explained in new frame.

Abstract:Relativistic Mean Field Theory in the rotating frame is used to describe superdeformed nuclei. Nuclear currents and the resulting spatial components of the vector meson fields are fully taken into account. Identical bands in neighboring Rare Earth nuclei are investigated and excellent agreement with recent experimental data is observed.

Abstract:Research interest in Grid computing has grown significantly over the past five years. Management of distributed resources is one of the key issues in Grid computing. Central to management of resources is the effectiveness of resource allocation as it determines the overall utility of the system. The current approaches to superscheduling in a grid environment are non-coordinated since application level schedulers or brokers make scheduling decisions independently of the others in the system. Clearly, this can exacerbate the load sharing and utilization problems of distributed resources due to suboptimal schedules that are likely to occur. To overcome these limitations, we propose a mechanism for coordinated sharing of distributed clusters based on computational economy. The resulting environment, called \emph{Grid-Federation}, allows the transparent use of resources from the federation when local resources are insufficient to meet its users' requirements. The use of computational economy methodology in coordinating resource allocation not only facilitates the QoS based scheduling, but also enhances utility delivered by resources.

Abstract:The relativistic mean field approach (RMF) is well known for describing accurately binding energies and nucleon distributions in atomic nuclei throughout the nuclear chart. The random phase approximation (RPA) built on top of the RMF is also a good framework for the study of nuclear excitations. Here, we examine the consequences of long range correlations brought about by the RPA on the neutron and proton densities as given by the RMF approach.

Abstract:New parameter sets for the Lagrangian density in the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory, PK1 with nonlinear sigma- and omega-meson self-coupling, PK1R with nonlinear sigma-, omega- and rho-meson self-coupling and PKDD with the density-dependent meson-nucleon coupling, are proposed. They are able to provide an excellent description not only for the properties of nuclear matter but also for the nuclei in and far from the valley of beta-stability. For the first time in the parametrization of the RMF Lagrangian density, the center-of-mass correction is treated by a microscopic way, which is essential to unify the description of nuclei from light to heavy regions with one effective interaction.

Abstract:We study theoretically the ground state properties of N=8, N=20, and N=40 neutron-rich isotones using the nonlinear relativistic mean-field theory. It is found that the nonlinear relativistic mean-field theory can very satisfactorily reproduce the ground state properties of the above nuclei, even near the neutron drip line. Some relevant phenomena on nuclear structure have been discussed.

Abstract:The structure of carbon isotopes from the proton-drip-line nucleus 9C to the neutron-drip-line nucleus 22C has been systematically studied in the framework of the nonlinear relativistic mean-field theory with inclusion of deformations. Calculations show that the relativistic mean-field theory provides a reasonably good description of experimental binding energies and root-mean-square radii. The spin and parity of the ground state in 15,17,19C are correctly predicted to be (12)+, (32)+ and (12)+, respectively. The effect of deformations on the structure of exotic nuclei is discussed and a consistent explanation on the one-neutron halo in 19C is given.

Abstract:Recent years have seen considerable progress with ab-initio calculations of the nuclear structure by non-relativistic many-body methods. Dirac-Brueckner-Hartree-Fock Theory provides a relativistic ab-intio approach, which is able to reproduce saturation properties of symmetric nuclear matter without three-body forces. However, so far, the corresponding equations have been solved only for positive energy states. Negative energy states have been included for forty years in various approximations, leading to differences in the isospin dependence. This problem has been solved only recently by a complete solution of the self-consistent relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock equations in asymmetric nuclear matter. Due to its numerical complexity, however, it is very difficult to extend the Relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock theory to the study of finite nuclear systems. Recent efforts will be discussed to overcome this problem.

Abstract:Halo structures of some light mirror nuclei are investigated with the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory. The calculations show that the dispersion of the valence proton is larger than that of the valence neutron in its mirror nucleus, the difference between the root-mean-square (rms) radius of the valence nucleon in each pair of mirror nuclei becomes smaller with the increase of the mass number A, and all the ratios of the rms radius of the valence nucleon to that of the matter in each pair of mirror nuclei decrease almost linearly with the increase of the mass number A..

Abstract:We extend our work on the finite value of mean π-field in the relativistic mean field theory to the derivative coupling models for nuclear matter proposed by Zimanyi and Moszkowski. We show that a finite mean π-field may lower the energy per nucleon at a not too high density for all of those models. This qualitative result seems true in general and is model independent, although the quantitative details may be different for different models.

Abstract:The formalism for Relativistic Continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov (RCHB) theory, which is the extension of the Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) and the Bogoliubov transformation in the coordinate representation, and its application to unstable nuclei are reviewed. As the RCHB formalism allows for the proper description of the coupling between the bound state and the continuum by the pairing force, it is suitable not only for stable nuclei but also the nuclei near the drip line. The pairing correlations are taken into account by both a density - dependent force of zero range and the finite range Gogny force.

Abstract:It is known that elastic magnetic electron scattering can be used to study the magnetic properties of nuc-lei and determine the outermost-shell single-particle orbitals.In this study,the magnetic form factors |FM(q)|2 of odd-A nuclei calculated with relativistic and non-relativistic models are systematically compared.We use the relativ-istic mean-field (RMF) and Skyrme Hartree-Fock (SHF) models to generate single-particle wave functions and cal-culate the |FM(q)|2 values of selected nuclei under relativistic and non-relativistic frameworks,respectively.Geo-metric factors are introduced through the spherical limit method to consider the influences of deformation,which im-proves the agreement between the theoretical results and experimental data.It is shown that both the models have the capability to describe the magnetic form factors in the spherical and deformed cases,and the discrepancies in|FM(q)|2 reflect the differences in the descriptions of the single-particle orbital between the two models.

Abstract:. The ground-state properties of Zn isotopes have been investigated using the deformed relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory with the NL-SH and TM1 forces. The π-meson and the spatial component of the ω-meson are taken into account. Shell effects in nuclear sizes and neutron skins are well described. Strong deformations are found for most of Zn isotopes. The shape coexistence of prolate-oblate types exists for a high portion of Zn isotopes. The occurrence of the superdeformed minimum in even isotopes is discussed. The π-meson contribution in ground-state properties of odd Zn isotopes is very limited, whereas the spatial component of the ω-meson that couples to the nonzero vector current in deformed odd nuclei gives rise to the degeneracy breaking of the level with opposite spin projections, playing the role of anti-pairing. The anti-pairing role in odd nuclei and pairing correlations with the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer description in even nuclei are important to give the odd-even difference in charge radii, the prediction of the proton drip line, and possible abundance of the halo structure for neutron-rich isotopes.

Abstract:For the first time, the Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) model is applied to theshears band recently observed in _37^84Rb. Signals of the appearance ofthe shears mechanism, such as smooth decreases of the shears angle and of theB(M1)/B(E2) ratio with keeping the nearly constant tilt angle, are wellreproduced. Thus it is shown that the microscopic RMF model can nicely describethe shears band in this nucleus.
