Abstract:Based on entanglement swapping between two Bell states, two novel quantum key distribution protocols are proposed. One is for two-level systems, where there is no need for classical communication before each entanglement swapping. This feature is essential to its practical realization. Furthermore, to establish an arbitrarily long key, the protocol needs only two Bell states. The other is for d-level (d > 2) systems, in which higher security and higher source capacity are achieved. Using the theory of quadratic residue, we prove that in the two-qudit systems, each Bell state is a uniform superposition of all basis states in the dual basis, which is different to the situation in two-qubit systems. This difference means our two-level protocol cannot be generalized to the d-level situation directly. On the other hand, it results in higher security of our d-level protocol and is instructive to design quantum cryptography protocols.

Abstract:A new quantum communication scheme based on entanglement swapping is presented. Simplified calculation symbols are adopted to realize the process. Quantum key distribution and quantum secure direct communication can be simultaneously accomplished in the scheme. Two legitimate communicators can secretly share four certain key bits and four random key bits via three EPR pairs (quantum channels).

Abstract:A quantum key distribution and identification protocol is proposed, which is based on entanglement swapping. Through choosing particles by twos from the sequence and performing Bell measurements, two communicators can detect eavesdropping, identify each other and obtain the secure key according to the measurement results. Because the two particles measured together are selected out randomly, we need neither alternative measurements nor rotation of the Bell states. Furthermore, less Bell measurements are needed in our protocol than in the previous similar ones.

Abstract:A continuous variable quantum key distribution protocol with entanglement swapping of quasi-Bell entangled coherent states is proposed. As the preliminary step, a sender shares quasi-Bell entangled coherent states with a receiver. After their measurements to distinguish the cases of a zero response, a nonzero even-photon response and an odd-photon response, two legitimate participants fulfill the task of key distribution. The correlations resulting from entanglement swapping of quasi-Bell entangled coherent states and the order rearrangement of transmitted states provide the possibility to protect secret key distribution. In the ideal channel, the success probability increases with the amplitude of the coherent state, and approaches unity when the amplitude of the coherent state is larger than two. However, in the loss channel, the decoherence will introduce error in the generated key, and the error rate increases with the amplitude of the coherent state. When the amplitude of the coherent state is smaller than 0.2 (or so), the error rate approaches zero, although the success probability is less than 0.5 in this case.

Abstract:In order to distribute a secret key between two designated users, a mutually authenticated quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol based on entanglement swapping is proposed. Without classical information exchange, the two communication parts can securely share a session key in this protocol. Almost all qubits, except a few which are used to check the security of quantum channel, can produce the private key, and two pairs of entangled particles can generate two bits private key. The protocol is proved to secure using Stinespring Dilation Theorem, and the efficiency analysis is presented.

Abstract:Recently, Boyer et al. presented a novel semiquantum key distribution protocol [Phys. Rev. Lett. 99 (2007) 140501] by using four quantum states, each of which is randomly prepared in the.. or.. basis. Here we present a semiquantum key distribution protocol by using maximally entangled states in which quantum Alice shares a secret key with classical Bob. Quantum Alice has the ability to prepare Bell states and perform Bell basis or computational basis measurement. Classical Bob is restricted to measuring, preparing a particle in the computational basis, reflecting or reordering the particles. The qubit efficiency of the protocol improves to 50% and the protocol can be modified to a measure-resend protocol or a protocol without quantum memory. We also show that the protocol is secure against eavesdropping.

Abstract:In order to improve the efficiency of key distribution,a quantum key distribution protocol based on W state and Bell state entanglement was proposed via quantum dense coding.In the scheme,the sender Alice codes the key successfully via local unitary operations,and the receiver Bob obtains the key with jointing measurement.All states can be used to transmit messages except those choosen for checking eavesdroppers,5 bits deterministic key were distributed by 5 particles.Security analysis result by using information theory shows that the scheme is secure,any eavesdroppers can be found in time.

Abstract:We present a quantum key distribution scheme based on hyperentanglement swapping, which can simultaneously generate deterministic and random keys without the loss of security. The scheme only requires two\|photon states entangled both in spatial (path) and polarization modes, and such a photon pair can create 4 bit of secure keys (2 bit of random keys and 2 bit of deterministic keys). Our protocol can be implemented with linear optics under current technology.

Abstract:By exploiting the entanglement and correlations properties of discrete variable quantum state,a tripartite quantum deterministic key distribution based on GHZ states and Bell states is proposed. The proposed scheme can hand over the pre -deterministic key to two receivers simultaneously,and it can also be extended to multiparty quantum deterministic key distribution when preparing multiple entangled state,this will greatly improve the overall efficiency of the key distribution. Security analysis results show that the proposed scheme could resist two common attacks, ensures the communication safe and reliable. Meanwhile,this protocol doesn’t involve any unitary operation,it’s simple and easy.

Abstract:A quantum deterministic key distribution is proposed based on three pair of Bell state entanglement swapping. Three pairs Bell state are entangled and measured by Bell measurement, information about deterministic key is transmitted via classic channel,any eavesdropper could be found in time. Compared with QDKD based on two pair of Bell state entanglement swapping,three pairs Bell state are used and two ways are designed to distribute deterministic key. Analysis results showed that only entanglement state of two particles is used and any unitary operation isn’t involved,it’s simple to operate and has high distribution efficiency.

Abstract:A quantum key distribution protocol with traditional Bob has been proposed recently by Boyer et al. using single-particle state. In this paper, a semi-quantum key distribution protocol is described, in which Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pairs of particles are utilized to generate a secret key in remote places. This extends the quantum key distribution protocol with traditional Bob where the single-qubit channel is replaced by the entangled EPR-pair channel. And quantum Alice is able to do any quantum operations, preparing quantum states and performing quantum measurement, but traditional Bob is not able to prepare and measure a particle in the computational basis, reflect the particles. Furthermore, entanglement states are used in our protocol. The analysis shows that our protocol is secure, which can avoid the beam splitter attack automatically, and the proposed protocol is more efficient than Boyers scheme.

Abstract:Considering the security and efficiency of quantum communication system, one step quantum key distribution protocol based on hyperentangled Bell state is proposed. Every 6 classical bits are divided into a group, which are encoded by single particle and hyperentangled Bell state, the sender Alice sends them to receiver Bob, Bob randomly selects the position of hyperentangled Bell state to measure and detects the existence of eavesdropper Eve by comparing measurement results in his hand and transmitted by Alice. Quantum key distribution protocol based on grouping is proposed to solve the storage problem of quantum information and improve the maneuverability, a security analysis is calculated under the intercept-measure-resend attack which introduce at least an error rate of 46.875%, if Eve wants to get all the information, the probability of detection eavesdropping under the entanglement-measure attack is 93.75%, so it proves that proposed protocol does not need to store the quantum state and asymptotically secure under intercept-measure-resend attack and entanglement-measure attack.

Abstract:By utilizing Bell states and GHZ states, two quantum deterministic key distribution (QDKD) protocols are presented to hand over the previously deterministic key to the intended receiver. The proposed QDKD protocols have two-way authentications, and then the eavesdropping and impersonation can be detected easily. The deterministic key itself is not transmitted over the channel and the receiver Bob infers his key in an indirect manner with the relationship between Alice's messages and his own measurement results, which guarantees the security of the deterministic key. Different from the quantum key distribution protocols yielding random keys, the proposed QDKD protocols can distribute the pre-deterministic keys securely, which are of great significance in the filed of key management.

Abstract:We present three quantum key distribution protocols using entangled state. The first protocol is based on the idea of qubit transmission in blocks. Although it needs quantum memory, its theoretic efficiency approximates to 100%. The second protocol does not need quantum memory and its efficiency for qubits can achieve 100%. The third protocol is a controlled quantum key distribution protocol which can be applied to a special cryptographic scenario.

Abstract:Based on the quantum entanglement channel, two secure quantum deterministic key distribution (QDKD) protocols are proposed. Unlike quantum random key distribution (QRKD) protocols, the proposed QDKD protocols can distribute the deterministic key securely, which is of significant importance in the field of key management. The security of the proposed QDKD protocols is analyzed in detail using information theory. It is shown that the proposed QDKD protocols can safely and effectively hand over the deterministic key to the specific receiver and their physical implementation is feasible with current technology.
