The Present Situation and Characteristic of CO2 Emissions in Different Region of China over the Past Decade

Abstract:Based on the binding targets of Chinese carbon emissions,we adopted the related data of 30 provinces and cities(Tibet excepted) in the west,mid,northeast and east of China over the past decade to analyze the present situation and the characteristics by the amount of CO2 emissions for unit GDP in China(which is CO2-emissions-intention).The result showed that CO2-emissions-intenty in China descended 38.4% over the past decade.If China could cash the promise of reducing CO2 emissions,the quantity will be equal to 29.7%~33.4% of global share of carbon emissions in 2005.In the four regions,CO2 emissions intensity were almost dropping year by year.While there was negative correlation between CO2 emissions intensity and the Per capita GDP.There are no significant changes of the ratio of CO2-emissions-intenty in the four part regions occupied that in the whole country.The ratio of CO2-emissions-intenty in the west of China is maximum(for 32%~34%),where would become the operative important region to complete national reducing mission of CO2.The speed-up of CO2 emissions is related to GDP per year in inversed U pattern,which matchs the environmental Kuznets Curve.The mount of CO2 emissions for Per capita has the trend to increase,which in the East and Northeast is obviously higher than West and Central,and that presents positive correlation with the developing degree of economic.The result showed that the mount of CO2 emissions for Per capita related with Per capita GDP is dropping year by year,that means economic development and emissions reduction can win-win.
