Abstract:In the title compound, [Co(C8H4O4)(C7H6N2)2]n, the terephthalate dianions bridge CoII ions through terminal carboxyl groups to form polymeric complex chains; one carboxyl group coordinates in a monodentate manner and the other chelates to the Co atom. Two benzimidazole ligands also coordinate to the Co atom to complete a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal coordination geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking involving the benzimidazole ligands, with a face-to-face separation of 3.454 (11) Å.

Abstract:In the molecule of the title CoII complex, [Co(C6H4NO3)2(C3H4N2)2], the CoII atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and chelated by two oxidopyridiniumcarboxylate anions and further cis-coordinated by two imidazole ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. The shorter C—O bond distance of 1.260 (2) Å suggests electron delocalization between the oxido group and the pyridinium ring. The uncoordinated carboxylate O atom links with the imidazole and pyridinium rings of adjacent molecules via N—H...O hydrogen bonding. Weak C—H...O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title salt, [Co(C(5)H(4)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2), the Co(II) ion is located on an inversion center. It is chelated by two neutral pyrimidine-2-carboxylic acid molecules and is coordinated by two water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral coordination geometry. The cations and anions are linked via O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds into a layer structure; an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond connects the carboxylic acid group to the pyrimidine N atom.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Co(C7H5O3)(2)(C7H6N2)(2)](.)0.25H(2)O, the Co-II atom is coordinated by two 4-hydroxybenzoate (hbz) anions and two benzimidazole (bzim) ligands in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The carboxylate group of one of the hbz anions chelates to the Co atom with a normal Co-O bond [1.993 (2) angstrom] and a longer Co-O bond [2.561 (3) angstrom]. Aromatic pi-pi stacking is observed between neighbouring bzim ligands but not between hbz ligands.

Abstract:The title compound, [CoNa(4)(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(H(2)O)(12)](n), is a three-dimensional coordination polymer bridged by sulfoisophthalate trianions and water mol-ecules. The Co(II) atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate groups of the sulfoisophthalate trianions and by four water mol-ecules in a distorted CoO(6) octa-hedral geometry. Two independent Na(I) atoms also have a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by water, carboxyl-ate O and sulfonate O atoms. An extensive O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding network is present in the crystal structure, as well as weak π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9553 (11) Å].

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C6H6N4S2)(2)Cl-2].2H(2)O, comprises an octahedral Co-II complex and water of crystallization. Two Cl atoms and two diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligands coordinate to the Co-II atom in a cis configuration. The overlapped arrangement and the short separation of 3.46 (2) Angstrom between parallel DABT rings suggest the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions. A short S...S contact of 3.1822 (17) Angstrom is observed between DABT ligands.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Co(C4H4O4S)(C7H6N2)(3)]center dot 2H(2)O, the Co-II ion is coordinated by one thiodiacetate dianion and three benzimidazole molecules, with a distorted octahedral geometry. The tridentate thiodiacetate chelates to the Co atom in a facial configuration, with a Co-S bond distance of 2.5597 (8) angstrom. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding prevents the face-to-face stacking of neighboring benzimdazole ligands.

Abstract:The crystal structure determination of the title compound, [Co(C17H16N2O2)(C5H5N)(2)](C24H20B).C5H5N, indicates that the Co ion has an octahedral environment. The Schiff base ligand {systematic name: 2,2'-[1,3-propanediylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenolato} is found to be disordered at positions C8 and C9 in the propylene chain.

Abstract:The title polymeric complex [Co(C8H4O 4)(C7H6N2)2]n has been prepared and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group C2/c with a = 7.7865(12), b = 20.4215(18), c = 13.4880(14) Å, β = 103.298(2)°, V = 2087.3(4) Å3, Mr = 459.32, Z = 4, Dc= 1.462 g/cm3, μ = 0.859 mm-1, F(000) = 940, R = 0.0636 and wR = 0.1639 for 1278 observed reflections (I > 2σ(I)). The complex assumes a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry, formed by two phthalate anions and two benzimidazoles (bzim). The phthalate anions bridge the neighboring Co(II) atoms to form the polymeric chains. The centroid distance of 3.471(3) Å between the parallel bzim rings of adjacent polymeric chains suggests the existence of π-π stacking.
