Abstract:As the animal welfare has been more concerned,public pays more and more attention to various alternative methods for the conventional acute toxicity assessment.Up-and-down procedure,adopted as OECD test guidelines,is one of the most practical and promising alternative methods.This paper described the evolution and technique of this method,compared it with the conventional and other alternative methods,and gave a view of its recent applications at home and abroad.
