Abstract:For improving the stability, reliability, and convenient safeguard in network systems, a new method for network fault detection based on the network device running status was proposed. Using the feature of real network and SNMP(simple network management protocol) and TELNET(telecommunication network protocol), the realization of multi-agent network management systems was discussed. The network management system is characterized by rapid network fault detection, determination and treatment, which has intelligence and capacity for self-study, and also shortens the time of network fault (response) and treatment, thus the reliability of the network was improved. With the use of multi-Agent technology, the new way for studying network management has advantages of simple calculation, rapid fault detection, etc.

Abstract:With the rapid development of campus networks,operation status of network and service quality of key business must be considered as important factors for management and maintenance of the campus network,evaluating the network performance by analyzing network traffic and performance parameters has become an important means of network reliability research.Studying the reliability of campus network to start,with SNMP traffic monitoring technique,a campus network reliability analysis strategy is proposed based on macro-traffic analysis.A monitoring architecture which is centralized control and distributed measurement is implemented in this system.The whole network is monitored by applying the measure of server logical layering and the technology of regional agency monitoring.The functions of network equipment information display,macro-flow monitoring,abnormal traffic prediction and alarm are achieved.The experimental results show that the proposed system can analyze the reliability of the network more effectively,keep abreast of the network load conditions,rapidly discover the bottleneck of network performance and find out the reasons of the decline of reliability according to the analysis results.

Abstract:Research and analysis has been carried out on two system management technologies.One is based on Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP),the other is based on web based enterprise management(WBEM).Through comparisons on scalability,response speed,web service supportiveness and other aspects,the strengths and weaknesses of SNMP and WBEM are individually summarized.Hence a new framework that utilizes WBEM to manage SNMP compatible devices is proposed.Then with the combined framework of SNMP and WBEM,the management over system underlying resources is realized.Experiment demonstrates that SNMP devices can be integrated into WBEM system by just a few simple steps.The combined framework on the one hand helps the distributed management over devices,on the other hand,by combining web services,provides even more useful interfaces to enable devices that previously only supports SNMP to be able to support accesses from more interfaces.

Abstract:HINOC (High performance Network Over Coax) is an access network technology aimed at solving the bandwidth limit in user area. With the development of HINOC technology, it is significant to build an effective and efficient management system for HINOC network. After introduction to the basic principles of HINOC, this paper demonstrates a HINOC management system based on SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), of which we implemented SNMP agent. Through comparison with the proxy agent scheme in several aspects, we find that the embedded agent scheme is more suitable for HINOC. To meet the detailed management requirements for HINOC, a set of HINOC-MGMT-MIB is defined and implemented in HB/HM software system, which enables monitoring of base information and network status, access control, QoS management, software automated upgrade, etc. The lab trial results manifest the agent functions properly on HINOC device.
