Abstract:In this paper we study the nonlinear elliptic problem driven by p(x)-Laplacian with a nonsmooth locally Lipschitz potential (hemivariational inequality), that is (P){−div(‖∇u(x)‖RNp(x)−2∇u(x))∈∂j(x,u(x)),a.a. x∈Ω,u=0,on ∂Ω, where Ω⊂RN is a bounded domain and p:Ω¯→R is a continuous function satisfying some given assumptions. The approach used in this paper is the variational method for locally Lipschitz functions. More precisely, Weierstrass Theorem and Mountain Pass Theorem are used to prove the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions. Finally, we obtain the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions of constant sign.

Abstract:Some new existence theorems for homoclinic solutions are obtained for a class of second-order discrete p -Laplacian systems by critical point theory, a homoclinic orbit is obtained as a limit of 2 kT -periodic solutions of a certain sequence of the second-order difference systems. Abstract:In this article, we study a class of boundary value problems with p-Laplacian. By using a “Green-like” functional and applying the fixed point index theory, we obtain eigenvalue criteria for the existence of positive solutions. Several explicit conditions are derived as consequences, and further results are established for the multiplicity and nonexistence of positive solutions. Extensions are also given to partial differential BVPs with p-Laplacian defined on annular domains.

Abstract:Using the result of the error estimate of the simple extended Newton method established in the present paper for solving abstract inequality systems, we study the error bound property of approximate solutions of abstract inequality systems on Banach spaces with the involved function F being Fréchet differentiable and its derivative F^' satisfying the center-Lipschitz condition (not necessarily the Lipschitz condition) around a point x 0 . Under some mild conditions, we establish results on the existence of the solutions, and the error bound properties for approximate solutions of abstract inequality systems. Applications of these results to finite/infinite systems of inequalities/equalities on Banach spaces are presented and the error bound properties of approximate solutions of finite/infinite systems of inequalities/equalities are also established. Our results extend the corresponding results in [ 3 , 18 , 19 ].

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a structural inequality of the ∞-subLaplacian ▵0,∞ in a class of the semi-simple Lie group endowed with the horizontal vector fields X1,⋯,X2n. When 1<p≤4 with n=1 and 1<p<3+1n−1 with n≥2, we apply the structural inequality to obtain the local horizontal W2,2-regularity of weak solutions to p-Laplacian equation in the semi-simple Lie group. Compared to Euclidean spaces R2n with n≥2, the range of this p obtained is already optimal.

Abstract:Abstract The aim of this article is to study nonlinear problem driven by the p ( t ) p\left(t) -Laplacian with nonsmooth potential. We establish the existence of homoclinic solutions by using variational principle for locally Lipschitz functions and the properties of the generalized Lebesgue-Sobolev space under two cases of the nonsmooth potential: periodic and nonperiodic, respectively. The resulting problem engages two major difficulties: first, due to the appearance of the variable exponent, commonly known methods and techniques for studying constant exponent equations fail in the setting of problems involving variable exponents. Another difficulty we must overcome is verifying the link geometry and certifying boundedness of the Palais-Smale sequence. To our best knowledge, our theorems appear to be the first such result about homoclinic solution for differential inclusion system involving the p ( t ) p\left(t) -Laplacian.

Abstract:We study a nonlinear periodic problem driven by the p(t)-Laplacian and having a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequalities). Using a variational method based on nonsmooth critical point theory for locally Lipschitz functions, we first prove the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions under the generalized subquadratic and then establish the existence of at least one nontrivial solution under the generalized superquadratic.

Abstract:In this paper we study a class of quasi--variational--hemi\-va\-ria\-tio\-nal inequalities in reflexive Banach spaces. The inequalities contain a convex potential, a locally Lipschitz superpotential, and a solution-dependent set of constraints. Solution existence and compactness of the solution set to the inequality problem are established based on the Kakutani--Ky Fan--Glicksberg fixed point theorem. Two examples of the interior and boundary semipermeability models illustrate the applicability of our results.

Abstract:We deal with the existence of three distinct solutions for a poly-Laplacian system with a parameter on finite graphs and a $(p,q)$-Laplacian system with a parameter on locally finite graphs.The main tool is an abstract critical points theorem in [Bonanno and Bisci, J.Math.Appl.Anal, 2011, 382(1): 1-8]. A key point in this paper is that we overcome the difficulty to prove that the G$\hat{\mbox{a}}$teaux derivative of the variational functional for poly-Laplacian operator admits a continuous inverse, which is caused by the special definition of the poly-Laplacian operator on graph and mutual coupling of two variables in system.

Abstract:We investigate a generalized poly-Laplacian system with a parameter on weighted finite graph, a generalized poly-Laplacian system with a parameter and Dirichlet boundary value on weighted locally finite graphs, and a $(p,q)$-Laplacian system with a parameter on weighted locally finite graphs. We utilize a critical points theorem built by Bonanno and Bisci [Bonanno, Bisci, and Regan, Math. Comput. Model. 2010, 52(1-2): 152-160], which is an abstract critical points theorem without compactness condition, to obtain that these three systems have infinitely many nontrivial solutions with unbounded norm when the parameters locate some well-determined range.
