Abstract:This paper describes an operable framework and some implementation approaches of book related resources UnionSearch and linking service system based on metadata in the situation of digital library services. Some key techniques of the system are pointed out, which include metadata integration, information interception of libraries, reference linking of full-text objects and related information. Then an approach of using TRS information management technology is presented, which will make the library users more convenient and search information more efficiently.

Abstract:With the rapid growth of data, two major challenges are taking place in digital library technologies. One is the transition from database to Data Ocean; the other is the transition from digital library to Smart Library. In order to address these challenges, we propose a scalable, adaptive, self-management, fault-tolerant architecture for various services in the digital library. Users can deploy services quite easily on the architecture, and it also enables the deployed services load balancing, scalable, adaptive and fault-tolerant. The practice in CADAL demonstrates the feasibility and efficiency of our architecture.

Abstract:Nowadays, swirling around most businesses is not structure information but semi-structure information, such as spreadsheets, and documents created by an individual or company. To fully manage and use semi-structure information as structure information does, we propose a technology based on the bi-directional integration between XML and RDB in a three-tiered structure. Through undertaking research at the intersection of XML and RDB, the technology expects to represent and use semi-structure information based on XML, and manage semi-structure information using RDB. Bi-directional means that we transform semi-structure data represented by XML into RDB and oppositely publishing RDB data into corresponding XML format based on schema mapping between XML and RDB, which is the first tier named static transformation tier in the three-tired structure. On the basis of static transformation tier, we transform semi-structure data query, i.e. query on XML from user interface into SQL on the corresponding bottom RDB and return back the result data in XML format, which is the second tier named dynamic query tier. At last, synchronous updating for the virtual XML and bottom RDB is carried out as the third tier named synchronous updating tier. All the three tiers' integration is realized through the middleware, which is also offered in this paper

Abstract:In order to improve the overall efficiency of using library digital information resources and achieve the sharing of information resources between the libraries.A XML based on library network information resource integration model was put forward.The library collection of documentation and information resources and other local information resources integrating system prototype of HIT(Harbin Institute of Technology) has been designed and built.Using the JSP+XML technique, a cross-database inquiring system was developed to integrate different types of document information resource,which offered the users a unified database inquiring platform and methods with convenient retrieval process,more satisfying searching results.

Abstract:A digital library (DL) needs interoperation between diverse information services. In order to use the legacy heterogeneous resource databases in one single DL, their information requires merging into one common virtual model to facilitate the operation and interoperation. Heterogeneity, structure and semantic relationship extension are the main challenges in the process of merging. To solve these problems, we define a directed-graph data model as the common data model and propose a merging approach based on XML Schema which captures the full structures and semantic constraints in relational schema, translates them into the global XML Schema representations and merges the result through adding semantic content constraints. In addition, a security model that allows for authentication and authorization are implemented for the method to satisfy the authorization required in the merging process.

Abstract:In order to implement the share and reuse of parts resource in networked collaborative design, method combining standard technology with XML to build parts library was put forward. At first, based on PLIB the conceptual model and hierarchical organization of parts resource were built. Then, the formalized-expression and storage for parts resource adopting tabular layouts of article characteristics were implemented. Thirdly, each rule of mapping the two kinds of data mode, EXPRESS and tabular layouts of article characteristics, to XML schema was presented to realize the parts library data conversion and transmission in network environment. Abstract:Web-based parts library is a main tool to realize parts resource sharing. Integrating numerous supplier libraries that are autonomous and heterogeneous and providing end user a uniform query interface is a primary requirement for successful implement of Web-based parts library. To solve these conflicts which occur in the integration process, in this paper, we build a PLIB ontology model and the dual hierarchy description model of parts library based on data dictionary technology (PLIB ontology). And then the integration algorithm of numerous supplier libraries is presented based on the two models.

Abstract:Aiming at the actual business requirements of enterprise,we introduces a sort of B/S architecture based on XML so as to resolve problems of traditional B/S Architecture, such as response time and security in this paper. Then a doable realization scheme is given. Also, the main functions and operation guide about technologies related SQLXML are discussed and the key code to realize this architecture and testing results are presented. Proved by the practice, this architecture has characteristics of simple design, easy implement, and it has got the anticipated effect on practical appliance.

Abstract:We introduce an integrated digital library (DL) of Qian Xuesen that consists of three parts - a database management system, a search engine across the Internet, and a self-contained multimedia system. The main techniques involved in developing this system are the method of converting non-structural documents to structural documents and the retrieval mechanism based on the subjects and contents of the documents included. A client/server-alike structure is adopted in the Qian Xuesen DL system in which SQL Server software is regarded as the back end. The applications are developed using Java Script, VB Script and ASP technology in the front end.

Abstract:Z39.50 is a standard network protocol of information retrieval, especially used in the fieldof online bibliographic retrieval. In this paper, firstly, we discuss the technology of online bibliographic re-trieval service based on Z39.50 and the problem of the current structure is presented. Secondly, we pre-sent a distributed architecture that uses the technology of query routing. Thirdly, the basic technology,such as the buildup of Marc index, fetching of the centroid information and loop control are discussed.The system architecture and technology that is presented in the paper increase the query efficiency of dis-tributed resources in the digital library.

Abstract:A data integration architecture consisted of application-layer,interface layer,data integration layer,adapter layer and data layer are presented.XML technology is used to solve data heterogeneous transformation;Web services technology is used to achieve adapter design used to extract local model and data conversion.Merging algorithm is used to complete each data fusion results sorting;using thread pool technology is improved the overall system performance.The deployment tests in tomcat and axis2 framework show that this architecture could achieve prospective effect.

However, in spite of success of data management of structure data by using databases, current enterprise information infrastructure is poorly suited for dealing with the continuing, rapid explosion of semi-structure data in enterprise. In this paper we discuss a system based on the integration between XML and RDB in a three- tiered framework, which undertakes research at the intersection of XML and RDB, exploits their strengths in a common framework, and expands their applicability in the area of semi-structure data management. Through a discussion of the fundamental architecture in general and its components in particular, we depict the basic principles that should form the basis for the design of the architecture based on the integration of XML and RDB. The key contribution of this paper is the framework for semi-structure data management, which is orchestrated through the transformation of representation, query and updating between XML data and RDB data.

Abstract:In order to solve the problems such as inconvenient querying and disposing data,difficult comprehending with each other,and disuniform format of data expression in disposing process,this paper develops a system on the basis of XML for data integration—student information integration system by adopting XML and JAVA technology,and Xquery is used in the global query language on querying disposal,which meets the different requirement of users for data integration.
