Abstract:Love is not the impulse of nature instinct but a construction of the modern discourses influenced deeply by the modern social culture.Fundamentally,love is the result of contest and configuration among the powers of politics,economy and culture. The appearance of modern concept of love is essential for the modern Chinese society.The concept of Love Supreme from the West made the young people being free from the bound of parents - arranging marriages as a powerful measure for them to struggle with the feudalism while the young people understood the key factor of marriage is love which finally became a new mode of marriages. Love finally became the new ideology of the modern society through the translations,discussions and imaginations of love stories appeared in the literature and the spreading of the celebrities' love affairs by new media.
