Abstract:Objective:To investigate the impact of incubation time of vitrification-warming embryos on frozen-thawed embryo transfer(FET) outcomes. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on 623 frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles,in which the embryos were transferred either on the same day(group A,n=307) or the next day(group B,n=316) after being thawed.According to blastomere developed whether or not during the post-thawed culture, group B was divided into the following 3 sub-groups:group B1(n=184),all embryos were growth;group B2(n=101),some of embryos were growth;group B3(n=31),none of the embryo was growth.Clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate, multiple pregnancy rate and abortion rate among the groups were compared. Results:There was no significant difference of the clinical pregnancy rate and implantation rate between groups A and B(P>0.05).The clinical pregnancy rate and implantation rate of group B1(41.8% and 23.4%) were the highest, but there was no significant difference compared with group B2(39.6% and 22.8%)(P>0.05).However,both groups B1 and B2 compared with group B3,the differences between them were significant(P<0.01).Conclusion:Although extending the incubation time of thawed embryos does not significantly increase the pregnancy rate and embryo implantation rate,we can select high quality embryos for transplantation through observing the growth of embryos after thawing and assessment their developmental potential.
