Investigation and Reflections of Basic-stage Teaching Status of 7-Year Medical Program

Abstract:Objective To understand the status of the current basic-stage teaching of 7-year medical program,analyze existing problems,offer solutions,and provide evidence for teaching reform so as to improve the teaching quality.Methods Totally 819 students(grade one to grade three) of 7-year medical program of a college in Henan Province were surveyed by questionnaire to collect their comments on the current teaching status.Results The higher grade the students were in,the less interested they were in bilingual teaching and laboratory classes,and they skipped classes significantly more.Among all the students,only 10.1 percent paid close attention to the latest medical information,42.5 percent of students felt satisfied with the 7-year program.Students expected to have problem-based learning and communicate more with the teachers.Conclusion Schools should reform bilingual teaching and laboratory teaching according to different grades,try problem-based learning,enhance more student-teacher communications,guide students to broaden their horizon and pay more attention to new medical information.
