Abstract:Objective: To study the mentality of heroin addicts after detoxification.Methods: 309 cases of heroin addicts after detoxification were rated by SCL-90.Results: Heroin addicts after detoxification had significantly higher factor scores,total scores and positive symptom distress level scores compared to Chinese norm,especially in somatization,depression,anxiety,and psychoticism.Among these,the female addicts' scores of hostility were higher than those of the males,while the male addicts' scores of psychotics were higher than those of the females.It is showed that people with junior high school education level had higher factor scores of obsessive-compulsive,interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety,paranoid ideation compared to people with primary school education level,and higher factor scores of phobia compared to people with senior high school education level.Conclusion: Heroin addicts after detoxification may have continued somatic withdrawal symptoms,which possibly related to anxiety or depressive mood,therefore certain pharmacotherapy and psychosocial intervention will be needed to prevent the recurrence of drug abuse.
