Effects of Qufengtongluo Recipe on Levels of Proteinuria and Serum IL - 6 and IL - 8 in Mesangial Proliferative Glomerulonephritis Rats

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of qufengtongluo recipe on the levels of proteinuria and serum IL-6 and IL-8 in mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis rats.Methods:Model of mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis was made with immunization.The level of 24 h urine protein was determined with the sulfosalicylic acid-sodium sulfate turbidimetry;Serum IL-6 and IL-8 were assayed with double antibody ELISA.Each group of the membrane cell(GMC) and the extracelluar matrix(ECM) were observed with light microscope.Results:The level of 24 h urine protein,IL-6 and IL-8 in the model group were obviously higher than those in the normal group(P0.01).Compare with those in the model group and in the qufengtongluo group,the levels of 24 h urine protein,serum IL-6 and IL-8 in the model group were all lower(P0.01).In the qufengtongluo group,the morphological changes in renal tissue showed that mesangial cells proliferated lightly,and regions of mesangial matrix broadened lightly and there was no extruded phenomenon in renal tubule cave,which were better than those in model group.Conclusion:Qufengtongluo recipe can reduce urine protein,serum IL-6 and IL-8,decrease GMC proliferation and ECM accumulation,and postpones or relieves the renal tissue damage.So it plays a role in protecting the renal function.
