Abstract:Guimu 9 is a new pigeon pea variety bred from hybridization of an Indian improved line ICPL90008 with good prolificacy and Guangxi local variety Mudou 2 with tall-plant and good resistance to diseases and insect pests,through seven generation in seven years.It characterized good branching ability,high yield,good resistance to diseases and insect pests,wide usage,etc.The yield of Guimu 9 with 2,250-3,000kg/hm~2 is higher than that of the varieties which widely popularized at present.It can be used as food,fodder and ecological tree species.According to the different application of Guimu 9,suitable land and planting density should be selected,scientific management on water and fertilizer should be taken,intertilling and weeding should be done timely,pests control and harvesting should also be conducted timely for getting high yield of pigeon pea.
