Expression of Notch1 protein in peripheral blood CD4+T cell from patients with hepatitis B virus

Abstract:Objective To study the role of Notch1 protein in the pathogenesis of hepatitis B patients.Methods The expressions of Notch1 protein in peripheral blood CD4+T cell from 23 cases of chronic hepatitis B,8 cases of acute hepatitis B and 10 healthy controls were determined by flow cytometry.And their serum HBV-DNA levels were detected by Quatitative Fluorogenic PCR.Results The proportion of Notch1 protein was higher in chronic hepatitis B patients(3.17±0.65)% than those in acute hepatitis B patients(1.85±0.46)% and healthy controls(2.18±0.57)%.There was significantly difference in the frequency of Notch1 protein between chronic hepatitis B patients and acute hepatitis B patients or healthy controls.But no significant difference was found between acute hepatitis B patients and healthy controls.Furthermore,correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between serum HBV-DNA level and the proportion of Notch1 in peripheral blood CD4+T cell in chronic hepatitis B patients.Conclusion The expression of Notch1 protein in peripheral blood CD4+T cell from patients with chronic hepatitis B virus is higher.It suggests that Notch1 protein may play an important role in the progression of hepatitis B and the elimination of HBV.
