Abstract:In order to get accurate parameters of synchronous generators, the traditional load rejection method requires the load rejection tests twice and adjusting the operation status of synchronous generator. In order to simplify the load rejection test procedure, this paper presents a new load rejection test method for the parameter identification of synchronous generators based on the measurement of power angle. All the parameters in d-axis and q-axis can be identified through load rejection test one time under arbitrary axis. The measurement of power angle is based on GPS and rotor speed signal, which does not rely on the synchronous generators' d-axis or q-axis parameters. Some electrical parameters in d-axis or q-axis can be derived from this test. For the five-order synchronous generator model, if the field voltage dose not change, the rotation speed controller dose not act, the equations of terminal armature voltage and field current are derived in details when load rejection test is done on synchronous generators under arbitrary axis. Using these equations and the steady-state equation, taking armature voltage, field current and rotation speed as measured qualities, all the parameters in both d-axis and q-axis equations can be identified through a load rejection test one time under arbitrary axis. The identification error of Xd and Xq will propagate to X′d , X″d and X″q , but it dose not affect the accuracy of time constant. The simulation results validate the method.
