Experimental Study of Toxoplasma Infection among Pregnant Women in Jilin Area

Abstract:Objective To learn the toxoplasma infection among pregnant women in Jilin Area.Methods Toxoplasma IgG and IgM in serum from 196 cases of pregnant women,whose pregnancy were between eight weeks and seven months,were tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results There was significant difference in the positive rates of TO IgG and IgM between the group of pregnant women who fed a cat or a dog and those who didn't(P0.01).No significant difference between the pregnant women in the town and those in the village was seen.However,there was significant difference in infection between the women in pregnancy for the first time and those for the second or more times(P0.05).Conclusion Pregnant women frequent contacting with the cat or dog is an important factor for toxoplasma infection.
