Abstract:In 1979,Jurek gave a characterization of t he moment of a full operator-stable μ by eigenvalues of exponent matrix of μ. Here, a characterization of the moment of Lévy measure (restricted on a neighbor of 0) of a full operator-stable μ by eigenvalues of exponent ma trix of μ is given.

Abstract:Recently, Fulman developed some general connections between martingales and character ratios of a random representation of the symmetric group on transitions, and obtained a convergence rate in a central limit theorem. In this work we aim to establish the law of the iterated logarithm for character ratios. The technique is a well-known Skorokhod embedding theorem for martingales and strong approximation argument. Also, bounded martingale difference methods are used to obtain a large deviation for character ratios.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of the realized power variation for time-changed α-stable Levy processes.The authors prove a law of large numbers,which is the uniform convergence in probability of the realized power variation after normalization.The authors also exhibit the central limit theorems of the realized power variation in all the orders except α/2.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct a class of special Jacobi cocycles, some element of which is a measurable function defined on the high dimensional torus. We prove that no matter the underlying dynamics is the shift or the skew-shift, the non-perturbative positive Lyapunov exponent holds for any irrational frequency, when the coupling number is large. What's more, if the frequency becomes to be the Diophantine number, then the Lyapunov exponent is weak continuity in the energy.

Abstract:Let {Xn;n≥1} be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables on a sub-linear expectation space (Ω,ℋ,Ê), Sn=X1+…+Xn. We consider the moments of maxn≥1|Sn|/2nloglogn. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the moments to be finite are given. As an application, we obtain the law of the iterated logarithm for moving average processes of independent and identically distributed random variables.

Abstract:We consider a family of positive operator valued measures associated with representations of compact connected Lie groups. For many independent copies of a single state and a tensor power representation we show that the observed probability distributions converge to the value of the moment map. For invertible states we prove that the measures satisfy the large deviation principle with an explicitly given rate function.

Moments of exponential functionals of Lévy processes on a deterministic horizon -- identities and explicit expressions

Abstract:In this work, we consider moments of exponential functionals of Lévy processes on a deterministic horizon. We derive two convolutional identities regarding these moments. The first one relates the complex moments of the exponential functional of a general Lévy process up to a deterministic time to those of the dual Lévy process. The second convolutional identity links the complex moments of the exponential functional of a Lévy process, which is not a compound Poisson process, to those of the exponential functionals of its ascending/descending ladder heights on a random horizon determined by the respective local times. As a consequence, we derive a universal expression for the half-negative moment of the exponential functional of any symmetric Lévy process, which resembles in its universality the passage time of symmetric random walks. The $(n-1/2)^{th}$, $n\geq 0$ moments are also discussed. On the other hand, under extremely mild conditions, we obtain a series expansion for the complex moments (including those with negative real part) of the exponential functionals of subordinators. This significantly extends previous results and offers neat expressions for the negative real moments. In a special case, it turns out that the Riemann zeta function is the minus first moment of the exponential functional of the Gamma subordinator indexed in time.

Abstract:We establish an explicit characterisation of Lévy measures on both $L^p$-spaces and UMD Banach spaces. In the case of $L^p$-spaces, Lévy measures are characterised by an integrability condition, which directly generalises the known description of Lévy measures on sequence spaces. The latter has been the only known description of Lévy measures on infinite dimensional Banach spaces that are not Hilbert. Lévy measures on UMD Banach spaces are characterised by the finiteness of the expectation of a random {\gamma}-radonifying norm. Although this description is more abstract, it reduces to simple integrability conditions in the case of $L^p$-spaces.

Abstract:The moment measure conjecture of Bialynicki-Birula and Sommese gives a combinatorial characterization of all open substacks of a global quotient stack for a torus action on a normal projective variety that admit a proper good moduli space, in other words it characterizes the invariant open subvarieties that admit a proper quotient. In this article we prove the conjecture for actions on smooth varieties. This gives an instance of stability conditions defined by cohomological invariants that are not given by Chern classes of line bundles.

Abstract:This paper studies the parameter estimation for Ornstein–Uhlenbeck stochastic volatility models driven by Lévy processes. We propose computationally efficient estimators based on the method of moments that are robust to model misspecification. We develop an analytical framework that enables closed-form representation of model parameters in terms of the moments and autocorrelations of observed underlying processes. Under moderate assumptions, which are typically much weaker than those for likelihood methods, we prove large-sample behaviors for our proposed estimators, including strong consistency and asymptotic normality. Our estimators obtain the canonical square-root convergence rate and are shown through numerical experiments to outperform likelihood-based methods.

Abstract:Let (X,(X) over cap) be a pair of Borel standard processes on a Lusin space E that are in weak duality with respect to some or-finite measure m that has full support on E. Let F be a finely closed subset of E. In,this paper, we obtain the characterization of a Levy system of the time changed process of X by a positive continuous additive functional (PCAF in abbreviation) of X having support F, under the assumption that every m-semipolar set of X is m-polar for X. The characterization of the Levy system is in terms of Feller measures, which are intrinsic quantities for the part process of X killed upon leaving E \ F. Along the way, various relations between the entrance law, exit system, Feller measures and the distribution of the starting and ending point of excursions of X away from F are studied. We also show that the time changed process of X is a special standard process having a weak dual and that the mu-semipolar set of Y is mu-polar for Y, where mu is the Revuz measure for the PCAF used in the time change.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider linear functionals defined on an unital commutative real algebra A and establish characterizations for moment functionals on compact sets of characters that depend only on the given functional. For example, we obtain a characterization of a moment functional on a product of symmetric intervals, in which we do not assume that the functional is positive semidefinite but positive on a semiring of A, and a characterization of a moment functional that is a solution to the moment problem on a product of arbitrary intervals. We also prove a Positivstellensatz for an archimedean cone, which is neither a quadratic module nor a semiring.

We prove that if $u$ is the weak solution to $Lu=h$, then $\Gamma u\in L^p$ for some $p>2$. This is the analogue of an inequality of Meyers for solutions to divergence form elliptic equations. As an application, we prove strong stability results for stable-like operators. If $A$ is perturbed slightly, we give explicit bounds on how much the semigroup and fundamental solution are perturbed.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the problems of stability for positive Markov jump linear systems (PMJLSs) and its application to nonlinear Markov jump stochastic systems (MJSSs). First, we provide sufficient and necessary conditions for p-moment exponential stability of PMJLS. Then, based on the proposed results on p-moment exponential stability of PMJLS, we obtain explicit stability criteria for nonlinear MJSSs. Finally, two numerical examples are presented to confirm the validity of the obtained theoretical results.

Abstract:The simplest system in Levermore's moment hierarchy involving moments higher than second order is the five-moment closure. It is obtained by taking velocity moments of the one-dimensional Boltzmann equation under the assumption that the velocity distribution is a maximum-entropy function. The moment vectors for which a maximum-entropy function exists consequently make up the domain of definition of the system. The aim of this article is a complete characterization of the structure of the domain of definition and the connected maximum-entropy problem. The space-homogeneous case of the equation and numerical aspects are also addressed.

Abstract:This paper studies the moment boundedness of solutions of linear stochastic delay differential equations with distributed delay. For a linear stochastic delay differential equation, the first moment stability is known to be identical to that of the corresponding deterministic delay differential equation. However, boundedness of the second moment is complicated and depends on the stochastic terms. In this paper, the characteristic function of the equation is obtained through techniques of Laplace transform. From the characteristic equation, sufficient conditions for the second moment to be bounded or unbounded are proposed.
