Abstract:In the mode of network-based manufacturing, machining devices are necessary to have capability of intercommunication with network in order to realize remote monitoring and control. Under this background, remote monitoring and control system, which is based on client/server and whose aim is milling simulation, is put forward in order to simulate the remote monitoring and control of real milling machining. The architecture model of the system is established, the function module and graphic user interface of client and server are designed, and the special protocol of application layer is developed. At last an expected experimental result of remote monitoring and control over simulation machining on server is observed.

Abstract:The automatic flat knit machine which is based on embedding technology is introduced in the paper, it uses PC to deal with the user's program, produces the machining data, then embedded system downloads the machining data through internet, by this way we can make the flat knit machine work automatically. This system has a character of steady control and good real-time because it makes full use of PC and embedded system. It also can do well in the system that need control servomotor, step motor, and has a obvious superiority in the controlling system of needing quantities of digital controls.

Abstract:This article introduces the principle of remote serial communication by RS-485 series interface and the corresponding hardware configuration which can fulfill the communication function of the system. This system achieves the communication modularization of the CNC machine tools. At the same time, in order to ensure the reliability in the transmission, contraposing the problems possibly appeared in communication procedure, some rational resolvents are given in order to keep the data transmitted exactly. The system adopts the advanced language VC and assembled language to implement the communication programming design between PC and single-chip microcontroller.

Abstract:Intending to make the NC programming flow in a more efficient manner, a novel interactive graphical programming methodology is delivered, which has been further developed into an automatic NC programming system for lathe machining. Particular advanced platform-across computing tools have been utilized for system implementation. Three programming paradigms has been introduced to converge the human intelligence and computing capabilities of machine, thus to facilitate the computer aided planning and manufacturing process. The system has been applied in certain practical context, in which its efficiency and robustness were validated.

Abstract:Computer numerical control (CNC) systems are becoming multi-functional as the requirements for manufacturing quality, efficiency and product diversity are becoming more rigorous. The reconfigurability and scalability property of CNC are important for reducing manufacturing costs and functional redundancy and shortening manufacturing time. However, in current CNC systems, functions are closely coupled in a real-time operation environment. This has been a main obstacle for implementing a scalable and reconfigurable CNC system. This paper proposes a new type of CNC system named invisible numerical control (INC) system to simplify CNC architecture and improve CNC architecture reconfigurability and function reusability. INC system consists of three sub-systems, namely project center, motor controller and mobile terminal. The functions of the sub-systems are machine control instructions generation, execution of machine control instructions and process control respectively. The sub-systems are organized in loosely coupled manner. This is enabled by current computer/information resources and technologies such as high speed data transmission, large capacity and high speed storage, standard communication protocols and compiled operation of machining programs. By configuring different functions in project center, it can generates uniform machine control instructions for multiple and different types of machine tools. Therefore, reconfigurability and function reusability are achieved. This paper illustrates the functions, architecture and information model of INC and builds an INC prototype. Case studies show that by using current off-the-shelf hardware, INC can be implemented to undertake different manufacturing tasks.

Abstract:The smart factory concept has emerged as an interesting research topic for the development of next-generation manufacturing systems. The computerized numerical control (CNC) machine tools are the core manufacturing equipment in discrete manufacturing enterprises. Here, data collection and monitoring are an important part of intelligent manufacturing workshops. As modern automation and computer technology advance, the shortcomings of the older version of the CNC system become more apparent. This study presents a remote monitoring and management system for CNC machine tools using the Internet of things (IoT). The objective is to meet the demands of information integration of the underlying CNC equipment. First, we explain the power line carrier, alarm information, servo currents, fault diagnosis, remote control, online management of processing operations, and maintenance of machine tools information for the suggested system. This explanation helps us to understand the real-time processing and parameters of CNC machine tools. The proposed system reduces the power consumption of wireless sensor nodes used for monitoring the CNC machines. In addition, the IoT protocol used in this research allows for real-time communication between the CNC operating platform and the wireless sensor nodes. The experimental results indicate that a CNC monitoring model using IoT can provide temperature and vibration data for the CNC operating platform in real-time time, with the benefits of a simple layout and dependable connectivity.

Abstract:Nowadays typical WEDM-CNC systems are built as a monolithic application program with multiple threads or multiple processes. In the light of the modern computational paradigm, it is no doubt that the intelligent manufacturing systems must be built on the basis of the Internet infrastructure. This paper proposes a new model of CNC system for WEDM based on a digitizer/player architecture which is implemented in the Client/Server mode. The predefined continuous tool path described in G code is atomically digitalized by a digitizer with a specific tool path interpolator namely the Generalized Unit Arc Length Increment (GUALI) method. The increments for each moving axis are encoded in the bitstream format and compressed and stored in a file for further execution. On the client side, the real-time motion control of the tool path is implemented by a player which plays back the motion bit-stream by fetching the data from the server, and the feedrate along the tool path can be modulated by the gap discharge status to maintain a stable machining process. By applying the new model of WEDM-CNC system, the machine tool controller becomes extremely simple in accordance with the thought of thin client in the network-computing environment.

Abstract:The use of computer technology in manufacturing industries can improve manufacturing flexibility significantly, especially in manufacturing processes; many software applications have been utilized to improve machining performance. However, none of them has discussed the abilities to perform direct machining. In this paper, an integrated system for remote operation and monitoring of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines is put into consideration. The integrated system includes computerization, network technology, and improved holding mechanism. The work proposed by this research is mainly on the software development for such integrated system. It uses Java three-dimensional (3D) programming and Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) at the client side for visualization of machining environment. This research is aimed at developing a control system to remotely operate and monitor a self-reconfiguration fixture mechanism of a CNC milling machine through internet connection and integration of Personal Computer (PC)-based CNC controller, a server side, a client side and CNC milling. The performance of the developed system was evaluated by testing with one type of common protocols particularly User Datagram Protocol (UDP). Using UDP, the developed system requires 3.9 seconds to complete the close clamping, less than 1 second to release the clamping and it can deliver 463 KiloByte.

Abstract:A virtual system based on virtual manufacturing technique and NC processing technique for NC milling is developed with Visual C++6.0. The control panel and mill bed of this system is similar to that of the real machine. This system can realize the 3D simulation of machining process and collision-checking during cutting process. It can check most of syntax errors in NC program to reduce the waste of resource and equipment and to raise the using ratio of NC machine.

Abstract:A new smart architecture of CNC system based on the "digital code-player" framework is raised,which comes from the way of audio recording and playing on the network. The model of the "client/server" is adopted in the system ,which separates the motion control from the interpolation process and makes the system work asynchronously ,instead of the traditional synchronous way. Using the interpolation algorithm,the motion trajectory is digitally coded and the motion bit stream file is produced by the digital code. Then the CNC terminal ,which directly controls the machine tool , downloads the bit stream file from the server and plays it at the same time to realize the motion control. The architecture raised largely simplifies the CNC terminal ,and the real-time performance of the system is also significantly improved. Besides ,multiple CNC terminals can be connected to one server , machining different workpieces at the same time. And the feasibility of the principle of the CNC system based on the "digital code-player" framework is verified by the WEDM CNC system established using the new architecture.

Abstract:Networked CNC (computer numerical control) system is the foundation for realizing automation, intelligent and globalization of manufacturing. The transparent model, real-time and deterministic communication of industrial Ethernet is urgently needed. The communication platform based on Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS), TCP/IP and Ethernet is the trend of the next industrial automation communication system. This paper put forward a reference model based on MMS+TCP/IP+Ethernet to achieve the real-time seamlessly data exchange for CNC in distributed environment. The networked CNC is constructed by main control board based on ARM microcontroller, motion controller (based DSP and CPLD), real-time OS of RTLinux and user graphic interface of MiniGUI. After analyzed the effect factors of real-time communication performance, the key technologies of the platform were discussed, such as communication tasks priority of Ethernet, TCP/IP protocol over Ethernet, real-time network communication models and event-driven scheduling. Finally, and the network experimental results are shown and discussed.

Abstract:This paper presents an intelligent monitoring system of manufacturing process in CNC machine tools through the Internet in order to improve the production process control. The monitoring system, based on SINUMERIK 840D is developed with the function of real-time data acquisition, storage and management, statistics and analysis. By means of the HMI Programming Package, an OEM development kit provided by Siemens, the machine data acquisition program is developed to read the bottom layer NC/PLC variables, such as NC program, cutting speed, spindle speed, alarm, etc., which are sent to the server through RJ45 network interface. Therefore, different roles from the factory can monitor the machine status and make scientific decisions by viewing the required statistical and analyzed data of the machine tool on the computers or mobile phones anywhere and anytime, which is very meaningful for the smart factory.

Abstract:By adopting programming control technology and modern communication technology, a data transmission system applied the stipulation between PC and PLC on electronic dobby rapier weaving machine is developed. This system can set up and read work parameters on line, manage and transmit structure information of fabric, and possess web and generalization capabilities. In addition, this system can be regarded as a firm foundation for constructing network system on electronic dobby rapier weaving machine facing network and is worthy of being promoted in practical manufacture.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the development and the existing problems of the machine tool control system,the combination between the concept of cloud computing and CNC machine tools intelligent control is an effective way to solve the problem.In view of the application situation of cloud computing in the manufacturing industry in domestic and foreign,it is concluded that the idea of designing and adjusting the machine tool control system based on cloud computing is innovative,which can be relied on the essential characteristics of cloud computing to build a novel open control structure with the basic characteristics of cloud computing,therefore the computing power can be configured according to the calculation pressure,that can be met the overall trend of intelligent machine.The concept of intelligent machine tool cloud control system is proposed,and its connotation is analyzed.Combined with the cloud computing architecture,the idea of hierarchical,task and data flow control is proposed.Finally,the overall structure of the intelligent machine tool cloud control system is designed,and the detailed implementation method of the intelligent machine tool cloud control system is analyzed and decomposed according to the overall framework.A general idea for further analysis of the computational power is provided,such as storage capacity,machining accuracy of NC machine tools in this control architecture,that can be verified the feasibility and characteristics of the designed scheme.Therefore,the research results can provide a certain methodology to solve the problems of system integration,large data processing,calculation speed and accuracy,and the openness of intelligent machine tools.
