Abstract:The liposoluble constituents of Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolium were extracted by soxhlet extraction,and their constituents were determined by GC-MS.The aim was to determine Liposoluble Constituents and their relative content in Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolium.The results showed that 41 compounds from Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolium were identified.The major liposoluble constituents were made of alcohols,esters and fatty acid compounds.(Z)-9-Heptadecene-4,6-diyn-8-ol was the most content of the liposoluble constituents from Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolium,but sterols and fatty acids in Panax ginseng were more than that in Panax quinquefolium.The method is rapid and reliable,it provide important indexes for identifying Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolium and studying the pharmacological effects of them.

Abstract:We adopted a new extraction method - Accelerated Solvent Extractor (ASE)[1] to extract the liposoluble constituents of Panax quinquefolius and Panax ginseng. GC-MS was used to analyze extract constituents with liposoluble, and which main peaks were identified. It was the fingerprints of liposoluble constituents of Panax quinquefolius and Panax ginseng [2]. This method was able to expose liposoluble constituents with a full range offering a new method for identification and controlling quality of Panax quinquefolius and Panax ginseng.

Abstract:Thirty nine compounds in the volatile oils of the flowerbuds of Panax quinquefolium L. cultivated in China were isolated and identified with gas chromatography/mass spectremetry. To our great surprise, beta -farnensene, a sesquiterpene compound of them, alone account for 48.67% of the total volatile oils contents. This experimental result was contrasted with the volatile oils components of the different parts of Panax quinquefolium L. and Panax: ginseng, anidentical genus plant, on chemical components and relative quantities. It was discovered that the only one common component is beta -farnensene in them and it is the highest value in determined relative contents. Above result provides scientific basis for biological synthesis of triterpenoid saponins.

Abstract:Objective To study the liposoluble components from the aerial parts of Dioscorea nipponica.Makino.Methods The the liposoluble components from the aerial parts of Dioscorea nipponica.Makino were analyzed By GC-MS-computer technology.Results There are more than 30 compounds have been found aggregately,13 compounds of them have been identified with the Computer standard spectra as Nonacosane(41.52%),Hentriacontane(34.61%),Hptacosane(7.67%),1-Heptene(2.83%) and etc.Conclusion The liposoluble components from the aerial parts of Dioscorea nipponica.Makino.is mainly higher saturant alkanes.

Abstract:The morphological appearance and some ingredients of Panax ginseng , Panax notoginseng and Panax japonicus of the Panax genus are similar. However, their pharmacological activities are obviously different due to the significant differences in the types and quantity of saponins in each herb. In the present study, ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOFMS) was used to profile the abundances of metabolites in the three medicinal Panax herbs. Multivariate statistical analysis technique, that is, principle component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) were used to discriminate between the Panax samples. PCA of the analytical data showed a clear separation of compositions among the three medicinal herbs . The critical markers such as chikusetsusaponin IVa, ginsenoside R0, ginsenoside Rc, ginsenoside Rb1, ginsenoside Rb2 and ginsenoside Rg2 accountable for such variations were identified through the corresponding loading weights, and the tentative identification of biomarkers is completed by the accurate mass of TOFMS and high resolution and high retention time reproducibility performed by UPLC. The proposed analytical method coupled with multivariate statistical analysis is reliable to analyze a group of metabolites present in the herbal extracts and other natural products. This method can be further utilized to evaluate chemical components obtained from different plants and/or the plants of different geographical locations, thereby classifying the medicinal plant resources and potentially elucidating the mechanism of inherent phytochemical diversity.

Abstract:The components of lipophilic part of Ligusticum Chuanxiong Hort. (LCH) were analyzed by use of gas chromatography/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) with NIST library. Under the chromatographic conditions, the samples of LCH from different place with different batch were measured and the common peaks in the fingerprint were confirmed. Twenty two compounds in lipophilic part of LCH were identified and sixteen of them will be used as common peaks of the fingerprint to control the quality of LCH. The fingerprint with active compounds can basically illustrate the composing character of lipophilic part of LCH and the quality of LCH can be controlled by this method.

Abstract:Objective: To analyze the fat-soluble components of Lycopus lucidus.Method: The fat-soluble components were extracted by cold-soak extraction,and GC-MS was used to analyze their components.Result:Twenty compounds were extracted from the L.lucidus.22 compounds were identified,amounting for 75.19% of the total constituents.Conclusion: The esters were the main components,amounting for 38.67% of the total,followed by sesquiterpene amounting for 26.58%.

Abstract:Objective]The volatile components from ‘Guanyinlü’ litchi fruit were detected .[Method]Qualitative and quantitative analyses were carried out using headspace solid-phase microextraction ( HS SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).[Result and conclusion]A total of 66 vol-atile components were detected in ripe ‘Guanyinlü’ litchi fruits, including 20 alkenes, 11 esters, 11 al-cohols, 3 ketones, 6 alkanes, 4 aldehydes, 2 aromatic compounds and 10 others, among which the major components were D-limonene;2-buten-1-ol, 3-methyl;cyclohexene, 1-methyl-4-(1-methyle thylidene);β-myrcene;ethyl acetate;2-buten-1-ol, 3-methyl-, acetate;2,6-octadien-1-ol,3,7-dimethyl-,( Z);3-methyl-3-buten-1-ol;1-octen-3-ol;azulene, 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydro-1, 4-dimethyl-7-(1-methyle-thenyl)-, [1S-(1α,7α,8aβ)]-.The quality of ‘Guanyinlü’ litchi might be related to the presence and relative content of the alkene of aroma components .

Abstract:In this study, the chemical profile of Ling-Gui-Zhu-Gan Decoction (LGZGD) which was prepared by the method recorded in <i>Synopsis of Golden Chamber</i> was analyzed by LC–QTOF MS. A total of 89 compounds were identified, including flavonoids, pentacyclic triterpenes, glycosides, organic acids and others. Among them, nine major active components with high response value in chromatogram were selected for quantification, including liquiritin apioside, liquiritin, isoliquiritin apioside, isoliquiritin, coumarin, liquiritigenin, cinnamic acid, cinnamaldehyde and glycyrrhizic acid. A quantitative analysis of multi-components by single marker (QAMS) was applied to simultaneous determination of nine major components in LGZGD. Using liquiritin as the internal reference, the relative correction factors (RCFs) were calculated to determine the contents of other eight compounds. A series of methodological study and robustness study were carried out, which proved that the RCFs between liquiritin and others were stable. In addition, compared with the results calculated by external standard method (EMS), there were no remarkable differences between these two methods with absolute relative errors less than 3.12%. The developed QAMS method was successfully applied to preparation process analysis. In conclusion, this QAMS method was convenient, accurate and feasible enough for evaluating the quality of LGZGD.

Abstract:The liposoluble constituents from the aril, husk and kernel of longan were studied. The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and computer spectrum searching technique were applied. 15, 34 and 33 compounds were identified from the petroleum ether extracts of the aril, husk and kernel of longan respectively. The study on the liposoluble constituents of the aril, husk and kernel of longan provided the test basis for the further development and utilization of Dimocarpus Longan Lour resources.

Abstract:The aroma components in honey-mulberry wines which were fermented with different cultivars of mulberry(hybrid mulberry,Dashi mulberry,Hongguo2 mulberry and Hongguo1 mulberry) were extracted by solvent extract and analyzed by GC-MS.The results indicated that the identified amount of aroma components of four honey-mulberry wines is as follows:hybrid wine 59,Dashi wine 56,Hongguo2 wine 50,Hongguo1 wine 50,and their common aroma components are 45.Moreover,there are 5 common components ranked before 10 among all 45 components,which are 1-butanol,3-methyl-,1-propanol,2-methyl-,benzeneethanol,benzeneethanol,4-hydroxy-and one certain substance,but their relative contents in four wines are very different.Besides,each of four honey-mulberry wines also contains a few particular aroma components.These components lead to a similar and unique aroma and style for honey-mulberry wines fermented with different cultivars of mulberry.

Abstract:Objective To provide the foundation for reasonable utilization by analyzing the liposoluble components of Ligularia fischeri.Methods With chloroform as solvent,the liposoluble constituents in Ligularia fischeri were extracted by ultrasonic extraction.The extracted substances were isolated and identified by GC-MS.The relative content of each constituent in liposoluble components was ascertained by peak area normalization of chromatogram.Results 41 components were identified,which took up 71.58% of the total amount.Conclusion The main components of liposoluble components are D-Limonene,(E)-3,7-dimethyl-1,3,6-Octatriene,(E,Z)-2,6-dimethyl-2,4,6-Octatriene,Caryophyllene,2,6-dimethyl-6-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl)-Bicyclohept-2-ene,alpha-Farnesene,and(all-E)-2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyl-2,6,10,14,18,22-Tetracosahexaene.

Abstract:The sample was extracted by Soxlet extraction,derivated by methyl esterification and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).Thirty-nine chemical constituents were identified.The principal lipsoluble chemical components are cis,cis-9,12-octadecadienoic acid(29.73%),hexadecanoic acid(12.94%),cis-9-octadecenoic acid (3.14%),all cis-9,12,15-octadecatrienoic acid(1.83%),octadecanoic acid (1.64%) and squalene (12.00%).
Determination of Five Active Constituents in Licorice and Its Processed Products

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To establish a HPLC method for the simultaneous quantification of four flavonoids (liquiritin apioside, liquiritin, isoliquiritin apioside, isoliquiritin) and one triterpenoid (glycyrrhizic acid) in Radix Glycyrrhizae (licorice), honey-fried licorice, honey-soaked licorice and fried licorice. METHODS: The samples were separated at 35°C on a Hypersil ODS column with gradient elution and the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile and 3% acetic acid. The flow rate was 0.6 mL·min-1 and the detection wavelength was set at 254 nm. RESULTS: Five active constituents in the licorice were separated and determined simultaneously. The calibration curves of liquiritin apioside, liquiritin, isoliquiritin apioside, isoliquiritin and glycyrrhizic acid were linear over the range of 0.47 - 15.04 μg (r = 0.999 6), 0.13-4.16 μg (r = 0.999 5), 0.11-3.52 μg (r = 0.999 9), 0.13-4.16 μg (r = 0.999 8), 0.53 - 16.96 μg (r = 0.999 0), and the recoveries of the 5 components were 97.7%, 100.8%, 99.7%, 100.5% and 99.6%, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSD) were 0.4%, 1.8%, 1.5%, 2.1% and 1.9%, respectively. The content of liquiritin in the honey-fried licorice was higher than that in the honey-soaked licorice, the contents of the other constituents were in descending order in the four different samples as follows: dry-fried licorice, licorice, honey-soaked licorice and honey-fried licorice. CONCLUSION: The processing process has obvious effects on the contents of the five active constituents of licorice. The method is simple and convenient and it can be used for the quality control of the licorice and honey-fried licorice.

Abstract:The essential oil of Panax quinquefolius Liun were extracted with80% methanol instead of the conventional solvent diethyl ether and analysed by GC-MS. The composition differs greatly from that extracted with ether and 23 compounds have been identified. The esters and acids are the main components and reach to 65% of the total essential oil. The polarity of solvents is an important factor that affects the composition of essential oil.

Abstract:The aroma components extracted from fresh later-harvest Litchi Nuomici were analyzed by HS-SPME-GC-MS.36 Kinds of compounds were identified with their total content of 96.97%.The major constituents were alkenes(73.58%),esters(9.24%),aromatic compounds(5.69%),alcohols(3.6%),heterocyclic compounds(2.09%),nitrogen compounds(1.30%),and alkanes(0.44%),among which the main aroma components were a-Myrcene(19.41%),DL-Limonene(19.09%),1-methyl-4-(1-methylethylidene) –Cyclohexene(18.28%),1-methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-2,6-Octadiene(4.98%),1-butanol,3-methyl-,acetate(4.5%),2-Buten-1-ol,3-methyl-,acetate(4.02%),1,2,4a,5,6,8a-hexahydro -4,7-dimethyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-,(1a,4aa,8aa)-Naphthalene(3.10%),and a –Elemene(2.49%) .Compared with other kinds of Litchi,similar main components of Litchi aroma were found as alkenes,alcohols,esters and alkanes,while their composing and relative contents varied with the different kinds of Litchi.
