Knowledge Base Grid and Its Application in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract:Knowledge Base Grid enables worldwide sharing and coordinated using of knowledge base resources, which distributed around the Internet. By constructing large-scale web knowledge bases, Knowledge Base Grid supports on-demand and intelligent services satisfying personal needs and expectations such as personal health consultation. In this paper, we introduce a generic knowledge base grid for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Its framework consists of three main parts: Virtual Open Knowledge Base in which TCM knowledge has been well organized, Knowledge Base index that indexes the TCM knowledge services, and a Semantic Browser that supports TCM concepts browsing and TCM knowledge management. The implementation of TCM Knowledge Base Grid includes TCM knowledge representation and service hierarchy.
