Abstract:As one of the greatest translators and sinologists of the 20~(th) century Britain,Arthur Waley (1889-1966) conducted much translation of oriental classics and had exerted a deep and profound impact in the western literary cul- ture.Along with its spreading and canonization in the west,Waley's translation become a notable and significant case when we contemplate the confluence be- tween the east and west,the cultural globalization,and the role that literary translation played in this process.
