Study on Urban System in East Asian Region

Abstract:East Asian Region is one of the fastest growing regions in late 20th century,whose cities are the key nodes to construct East Asian production network.With five existing measurement methods,this paper analyzes scale-rank structure characteristics of urban system in East Asia on population,and then finds that:it is basically in line with the 2n law,while population scale-class structure of urban system in various countries can be roughly divided into "positive pyramid type"and "spindle type";the city fractal dimension of their urban system are very low and basically belong to the rank-size distribution of the primate type.
