Abstract:Objective To explore the features of clinic,image manifestations and the surgical treatment of insulinoma.Methods Six patients with insulinoma from Dec.2008 to Jul.2011 were analyzed retrospectively.Results Six cases in this group suffered typical Whipple procedure.Both diagnosis accordance rates of CT and MRI were 100%(6/6 and 3/3,respectively).All these six patients with benign insulinoma were confirmed by pathology.One tumor was located at pancreatic head,one in the surface,one in the neck,one at the body and two at the tail.Two cases were performed for enucleation,One case for neck of pancrease resection,Four cases for distal pancreatectomy.No hypoglycemic symptoms recurred in follow up period.Conclusion The accuracy rate of preoperative CT and MRI in the localization diagnosis of insulinoma is high.Intraoperative touch combined with intraoperative ultrasound can improve the accuracy of positioning and the safety of operation.Surgical treatment is the best therapy for insulinoma.
