A Review of Corpus - based Translation in China (1999 - 2010)

Abstract:Ever since the corpus-based translation was introduced to China in the 1990s,it has aroused great academic interest among Chinese scholars.As a result,large amounts of contributions emerged in this field.Thus the paper intends to have a general review of the current studies with the coverage of seven aspects: they are the study on the construction of corpora,the study on translation course,the study on the target in translation,the study on the contents of translation,the study on translation style,the evaluation on corpora and the literature review.Meanwhile the point of inadequacy was put forward in two aspects;the research can be combined with style science,furthermore,the construction of corpora,especially more concern should be given to interpreting corpus.
