Abstract:The progress in dairy cattle molecular breeding was systematically reviewed in this paper.The necessity of cow molecular breeding were introduced.The scope,characteristics,achievement,problem and promise of molecular breeding were discussed.We comprehended the relationship between DNA polymorphisms and performance trait,which includes the candidate genes relating with milk traits,reproduction performance and immune capability.The achievements in the cloning and analysis of functional gene,SSR marker for performance,comparative.The problem of dairy cattle molecular breeding was discussed.Base on above mentioned,the route,strategy and promise were anticipated.
