Synthesis and Solvent Polarity-Sensitive Photoluminescent Property of 4-Phenylethynyl-4'-Dimethylaminochalcone

Abstract:4-phenylethynyl-4′-dimethylaminochalcone was synthesized by the Sonogashira coupling reaction with 4-bromo-4′-dimethylaminochalcone and ethynylbenzene as raw material,and the structure of the compound was characterized by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy.The UV-Vis spectra and fluorescence spectra of 4-phenylethynyl-4′-dimethylaminochalcone in the different polar solutions were investigated,then the results showed that the compound had the polarity-sensitive characteristics of luminescence.
