Expression of eIF3S10 in lung cancer and its relationship with chemotherapy response

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of eIF3S10 in human lung cancer tissues and its relationship with chemotherapy response.Methods Thirty-one paraffin imbedding slices of lung cancer tissue from fiberscope diagnosis,20 tissue slices from benign lesion of lung and 10 slices from normal lung tissue were included in this study.The eIF3S10 protein expression were determined by immunohistochemical method.And the relation between the eIF3S10 expression and chemotherapy response was analyzed.Results The positive expression rate of eIF3S10 was 61% in lung cancer tissues,30% in normal lung tissues and 15% in benign lesion of lung.The expression level of eIF3S10 protein was positively correlated with the sensitivity of chemotherapy response in lung cancer.Conclusion Overexpression of eIF3S10 protein might play an important role in the development of lung cancer.This study suggests that the patients with cancer are sensitive to chemotherapy response if eIF3S10 protein is over expressed in tumor tissue.
