Abstract:As the core component of the fundamental computer education,the programming language course has become the public foundational course in universities and colleges for science and engineering students.Over the years,through the innovation of teaching approaches and methods,the development of learning contents and textbooks,the construction of the E-learning platform,etc,we established the guiding teaching principle of"meeting the needs of the students and fostering the core competencies of the students".We developed the teaching approaches of "associating multi-level teaching with extra-curricula lectures,self-study with extraneous checkup and control,and regular testing with the open final test".We enforced the effective supervision and control of the students' learning processes and realized the timely communication between teachers and students by means of the E-learning platform.A feasible,practical,and highly effective teaching and learning approach has been set up.
