Electrophysiological characteristics and radiofrequency ablation of manifest multiple accessory pathways

Abstract:Objective To report the electrophysiological characteristics and radiofrequency ablation of manifest multiple accessory pathways. Methods We reviewed the clinical data and characteristics of accessory pathways distribution and results of radiofrequency catheter ablation in 70 patients with multiple accessory pathways. Results ① 70 patients all had tachycardia history, 29 had two, 6 had three kinds of tachycardias; ② A total of 158 manifest accessory pathways were detected in these 70 patients, 52 had two, 18 had three accessory pathways; ③ AVRT could be induced in 61 patients, including 13 cases of antidromic-AVRT; ④ The success rate of the radiofrequency ablation of the patients′ was 97.1%(68/70), while accessory pathways′success rate was 98.7%(156/158). Conclusion Manifest multiple accessory pathways are vulnerable to a variety of tachycardias, radiofrequency ablation for the treatment with a high success rate.
