Abstract:The higher education of the Northeast economic region has produced a great influence on the development of the regional economy.The practice has showed that the increase of the scale of higher education gives a greater intelligent support to the development of the regional economy;continuously pushing forward the combination of production,teaching and research helps improve the quality of talented people of the pan-Northeast economic region;strengthening the higher vocational education building promotes the regional economic productivity;deepening the reformation of higher education caters to the needs of the regional economic development;improving the rate of research achievement conversion contributes to hi-tech development;increasing the consumption in higher education fuels the regional economic growth;combining higher education with the countryside building quickens the pace of the rejuvenation of the pan-Northeast economy.Nevertheless,problems exist in the process of higher education serving the regional economic development,such as the insufficiency of higher education funds affecting the quality of the regional higher education,the few research-oriented universities proving the fact that the higher education in the region is of large scale but not strong and the structural discordance between higher vocational education and regional economy.Therefore,in order to realize the coordinate development between higher education and regional economy it is suggested that governments at all levels strengthen their guidance and policy support;colleges and universities change their old-fashioned concepts and try to serve the regional economic development;and the research-oriented university building be strengthened and the ranks of teachers be guided to take part in the old Northeast industrial base building.
