Management of macrophytes in lakes

Abstract:Based on distribution, diversity and quantity of macrophytes, lakes are divided into three types: excessive-growth lake, appropriate-growth lake and negative-growth lake. The three types of lakes are presented with their characteristics, problems and corresponding solutions. Effective macrophytes management programs and the associated premises, protection and control measures, and implementation schemes are proposed for improving quality of macrophytes in lakes, especially eutrophic lakes.
