Investigation and Analysis on Drinking Behavior Characteristic of Rural Residents in Hebei Province

Abstract:Objective To understand drinking behavior characteristic of rural residents in Hebei Province and its in fluencing factors,in order to provide a scientific basis for the comprehensive intervention of controlling harmful drink ing behavior of rural residents.Methods Stratified multistage random cluster sampling was used,1088 rural residents with drinking behavior from 4 counties of 2 cities in Hebei Province were given questionnaire.Results There was 31.3% of rural residents with drinking behavior and the drinking frequency of 501(46.0%) rural residents was ≥ 3 times/ week.The drinking frequency and drinking classification had statistical difference between sex,residential land,level of education and age classification(P 0.01).The harmful drinking rate of male and female rural residents was 92.2% and 8.7% respectively and had statistically significant difference(P 0.01).The incidence of bad behavior after harmful drinking was 78.8%,which was statistically different from that of non-harmful drinking(P 0.01).Conclusion The drinking behavior of rural residents in Hebei Province is common,the drinking frequency is high and harmful drinking is very common.The comprehensive invention for drinking behavior should be taken for reducing social and health problem caused by harmful drinking.
