Abstract:Aim To investigate the distributive feature of aerobes and anaerobes from patients with Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) in ICU, and to investigate the resistance pattern of aerobes. Methods Specimens of bronchoscope protected specimen brush (PSB) and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) were collected. The isolates were identified by API bacteria identitive system.Bacterial susceptibility testing was done by kirby-bauer method and the statistical analysis of susceptible results by WHONET5.4 software. Results A total of 114 strains were detected. The isolates of gram-negative bacilli and gram-positive bacilli were 82 strains and 11 strains, respectively. There were only 2 anaerobes. The dominant strains were Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii. Imipenem was more sensitive to Acinetobacter baumannii; its resistance rate was 15.2%. Amikacin was more sensitive to Pseudomonas aeruginosa; its resistance rate was 12.0%. Conclusions The common strains isolated from patients of VAP are multiple-resistant to antibiotics. Anaerobic bacteria may be unimportant in patients with VAP.
