Abstract:ObjectiveTo analyze and summarize our experience in the use of the Fujinon EG 470-N transnasal gastroscope in our center, and to explore its application in clinical pediatrics: its current value and future potentials. MethodsTo analyze the use of the endoscope in 28 scheduled patients whose average age was 8.89 years. All patients were endoscoped transnasally with complete examination of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum and gas-tric biopsy for H. pylori rapid test and pathological examination.ResultsTransnasal gastroscopy was more suitable in patients older than 5 years of age. The rate of same diagnose under transnasal gastroscopy was 96.8%, according to pathologic diagnosis. Only 14.3% patients experienced nausea and regurgitation. ConclusionTransnasal gas-troscopy, being a new member in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy, is totally acceptable in clinical pediatrics. The procedure is reliable, safe and better accepted by patients.
