Predicaments and Solutions of China' s Urban Planning in Transition

Abstract:By elucidating the connotation of the "transition" and analyzing the new requirements that present to china' s urban planning, this paper tries to analyze the predicaments china' s urban planning faced and the reasons produced in an essential view. It finds that the bewilderment about the urban planning, the disharmony between administrative system and urban planning, the planners' confusion about their role, the less references between external urban planning theories and internal urban planning practice, are the main predicaments which china' s urban planning has encountered . Then the author analyzes the profound reasons which produce those predicaments. For the above conclusions, the author tries to explore the possible solutions to the urban planning of china in two aspects, external factors and internal ones.
